i saw that sign about 20 minutes ago on the way home from the dredg show downtown; a show i decided i should go to about 2 days ago. let me tell you, i'm very glad i did. i can't really describe dredg live, cause whatever i say wouldn't do them justice.. but suffice to say it's what you might call a spiritual experience
i got to the bottom lounge right before the 2nd opener, this band communique or something. i guess they were ok but i wasn't paying much attention cause $3 PBRs were calling my name. after they finished dredg came on and opened with 'ode to the sun', followed by 'same ol road', followed by (not in order): bug eyes, catch without arms, tanbark, sang real (this song is DOPE live), planting seeds (reminds me of a my bloody valentine song), jamais vu, sanzen, triangle, canyon behind her, of the room, a couple from leitmotif that i forget the names of, and probably some others i forgot. pretty much everything i wanted to hear except zebra skin.. oh well, i'm over it
3 shows in 3 nights continues tomorrow w/ rx bandits (and a static lullaby and finch.. hmm) up in milwaukee, hometown of pabst blue ribbon
