this is grateful
it's not just that i had a wonderful lunch of a potato scone, baked beans and tomatoes. it's that i was with my uncle jack. uncle jack is 91. he was my grampa's older brother. he is one of my favorite living people. he was born blind, but had an operation at the age of 6 1/2 that restored a lot of his vision in one of his eyes, though he has since lost most of it. he is kind and gentle and warm and loving. he can tell me stories about my grampa that i never heard before. he can hold my hand and i can feel a connection that runs through us. i didn't even meet him until 4 years ago after my grampa had already died, but i'm so happy that i've had the chance to have him in my life. i am truly, truly grateful. i just wanted to write this down. i just wanted to put this into something i can read again. i love my uncle jack. i would have come all the way here just to sit with him for a few hours.
