I am back to school and back to the usual, killing myself for my degree. My job after college better be FUCKING AWESOME after all that I'm putting myself through to graduate. Srsly.
I'm really not ready to be back. This summer just felt like a blip on my radar o'life. If I had had one more week to relax and unpack, I'd be cool, but as it is, I'm just really not happy to be starting back again. At least Monday is Labor Day, so that'll take some of the edge off.
So, this semester is going to be really hard. I have a project due every single week for Fashion Design III. I have one due this Wednesday, in fact! But, a lot of the due dates on the syllabus are progress checks, and not completed projects, so thats good. I think the progess checks will be good for me too, since I procrastinate too much. Annie did say she lowered the work load for us this semester, so thats at least encouraging.
My schedule is set up really well; No class before eleven, and no Friday classes. I think that will really help balance out all the crazy. My goal this semester is to have no C's. I had two last semester and it lowered my GPA some, which pissed me off. So I really want to work hard and bring it up again. I'm capable of making a B in Fashion, I know I am. This first semester I made an 84, but my attendance dropped it to a C (the attendance policy for this major is such a bitch. My grade will drop on my third unexcused absence, and every third tardy turns into an absence D: ), and last semester I had like a 78.5. So as long as I bust my ass and don't ever skip class unless I'm on my death bed, I can make a B.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? ...Right?
I -AM- excited about tomorrow, though! I have my Design Evaluation Class and Fashion History. I'm so excited about Fashion History I could pee. I freaking love Fashion History. I just hope the teacher isn't God-awfully boring. Design Eval is a sketching class. I'm not actually sure what I signed for, though, as the description was rather vague... but I think I just sketch out conceptual ideas for sleeves and necklines, and other aspects of garments. Manly, I'm just happy to sit in a classroom and draw, and not have to touch a sewing machine.
When I get more unpacked and settled, I'll posting up all my lovely pictures from the Alaskan cruise Rachel and I went on :D We left a few days after I bought my shiny new camera, so you know I was snap-happy.
