Leeteuk walked up the stairs, his slippers releasing soft thuds as he stepped on the wooden boards. He reached the second floor and walked down the hallway with its white painted walls, decorated with pictures of three small children, and two adults. At the end of the hall, he reached a light blue door, decorated with stickers and drawings of fishes. Leeteuk smiled to himself as he grabbed the door handle, pushed the door open, and stepped into a room painted the same color as the door. The walls had painted details of sea grass, bubbles, and even more fishes. The room was neatly decorated by a fish shaped carpet, lamp, and toy box. In the corner of the room, by the window, in a fish shaped, blue bed slept a little boy.

Leeteuk walked silently over to the bed and sat down on the mattress. He breathlessly chuckled as he watched the boy scrunching his nose when the mattress gave slightly away from Leeteuk’s weight. The boy had soft black hair that currently stuck in all possible ways, tiny almond shaped eyes encircled with long, dark eyelashes, round cheeks decorated faintly with a pink hue, and small rosebud lips. Leeteuk pulled the blue sheets slightly away from his tiny, round body and rubbed a hand over the toddler’s chest, crumpling the light blue fabric slightly.

“Donghae,” Leeteuk murmured softly, pressing a kiss against the toddler’s cheek. Donghae stirred slightly, releasing soft whines. “Donghae-yah, its morning now,”

“Teukie appa,” Donghae greeted softly, tiny slits of brown coming to sight as he slowly opened his eyes. Leeteuk laughed softly as Donghae curled into a fetal position, releasing soft baby noises. “I’m still tired, can I sleep some more?”

“ No, I’m afraid not,” Leeteuk said, laughter laced in his voice. He slipped his hands beneath Donghae’s armpits and lifted him up onto his lap. Donghae buried his face in Leeteuk’s white t-shirt, tiny fists fisting the material. Leeteuk supported Donghae with one arm under his butt, and one arm around Donghae’s tiny back as he raised himself up from the bed and exited the room.

“Don’t fall asleep on me now, Donghae, okay?” Leeteuk whispered into Donghae’s ear as they walked down the stairs. Donghae shook his head into Leeteuk’s chest, murmuring soft words into the fabric of Leeteuk’s t-shirt. On the first floor, Leeteuk walked into the kitchen where the strong smell of coffee hit him in the face.

“Look who’s awake,” Leeteuk said as he sat down by the kitchen table, beside another male, rounder, taller and much more muscular than himself.

“Kangin appa!” Donghae squealed, voice still somewhat rough from sleep as he squirmed in Leeteuk’s arms before Leeteuk got the point and let Donghae crawl from his lap onto Kangin’s lap. He screamed with joy as Kangin lifted him up into the air and brought Donghae’s round belly to his face, proceeding to blow against it. Donghae squirmed and squealed in Kangin’s strong arms, yelling Kangin’s name several times. Leeteuk just shook his head, a smile on his face, as he rose from the table and walked over to the counter where a warm cup of coffee was waiting for him, in his favorite angel and raccoon printed cup.

Donghae was almost out of breath when Kangin stopped tickling him. His high-pitched laughter filled the entire house, and neither Kangin nor Leeteuk could stop smiling stupid grins covering their faces. Kangin cradled Donghae in his arms and got up, walking over to Leeteuk.

“Hi,” Leeteuk smiled as Kangin leaned to the counter next to him, nudging him with his own shoulder.

“Hi yourself,” Kangin grinned flirtatiously as he leaned closer to Leeteuk and pressed his lips against Leeteuk’s. The arm that wasn’t holding Donghae wrapped around Leeteuk’s shoulders, pulling him even closer. Leeteuk sighed against Kangin’s lips, tugging slightly at his bottom lip. Kangin chuckled; Leeteuk felt the vibrations from it down to his own bones. Leeteuk loved that even though they had been together for a while, Kangin’s kisses still made his stomach feel like it was full of butterflies - just as it did when they were teens.

“Ewww, appa, and appa are kissing,”

Kangin and Leeteuk pulled away from each other, eyes discovering two small kids standing in the doorway. A boy and a girl. They were wearing identical pajamas, even down to the color pink. Their faces were close to identical too: both had huge brown eyes, mussed black hair, round chubby cheeks, tiny snub noses and rose petal lips.

“You done watching TV?” Kangin asked the pair as they shuffled closer to their parents. They both nodded at the same time.

“Sunkyu noona, Sungmin hyung!” Donghae squealed in delight and squirmed in Kangin’s arms until his dad got the picture and put him down on the floor. Donghae’s chubby legs carried him over to Sungmin and Sunkyu, embracing them both in a hug. Leeteuk and Kangin watched the siblings, their children, hug. Until they pushed him away, their features covered in distaste.

“Donghae-yah has pee in his pants, Teukie appa,” Sunkyu said, her little nose wrinkled in disgust. She grabbed her brother’s hand and walked in a huge circle around Donghae, who looked at them both with big, shiny eyes and a pout on his lips. The twins hid behind Kangin’s legs, while Donghae stumbled after them on shaky legs.

“I want more hugs,” Donghae whined as his two siblings pushed him away from them, running in circles around their parents. Leeteuk smiled softly and picked a now crying Donghae up off the floor.

“Let’s get you changed, hmm?” he spoke against Donghae’s hair as he brought the sobbing toddler with him to the bathroom.

“I want to hug noona and hyung,” Donghae whimpered as Leeteuk placed him on the bassinette, pulling of his dirty diaper, cleaning him and putting on a new one. Leeteuk pulled Donghae onto his feet, dressing him in long johns, a bib overall and a thick grey hoodie. Donghae’s sobs and whines had ebbed out, and he was only releasing some weak complaints from his throat when Leeteuk pulled his favorite socks on - yellow with brown monkeys.

“You can stop whining now, Donghae-yah,” Leeteuk chuckled as he carried Donghae out into the entrance, where Kangin was busy dressing Sungmin and Sunkyu in their snowsuits and winter boots. “After all, you’re going to kindergarten today!”

Donghae’s pout turned into a grin and he beamed at Leeteuk. He dressed Donghae in his navy blue snowsuit, placed his feet in black boots, tucked a light blue scarf around his neck, and pulled a snowcap over his head. He finished by putting Donghae’s hands into thick, waterproof gloves. Sungmin and Sunkyu had already stepped outside, Kangin, already dressed, stood in the door with Donghae’s backpack (a Finding Nemo one) in his hands. Donghae walked over to Kangin and allowed him to put the backpack on his back.

A few minutes later, Leeteuk was ready too, and they all walked out in the cold weather. Snow had fallen during the night, so the ground was covered in white. Kangin locked the door, and Donghae grabbed Leeteuk’s hand with one hand, and Kangin’s hand in the other. Sunkyu grabbed Sungmin’s hand, and then they walked towards the kindergarten. Donghae was in an exceptionally good mood looking up and grinning at his dads occasionally, as well as singing a few songs to himself during the ten-minute walk.

“Why are you so happy, Donghae-yah?” Leeteuk asked after a while, giving in to his curiosity.

“Because I’m going to the kindergarten and I’m meeting Hyukjae!” Donghae beamed, tugging at both his parent’s hand, jumping with joy, his backpack bouncing. Kangin chuckled.

“Who is Hyukjae then?” Kangin asked with a smile, watching as his son all but glowed. “He must be someone special if you’re this excited to meet him,”

“Hyukjae is my boyfriend!” Donghae declared with a huge grin showing off his tiny milk teeth. In front of them, Sungmin and Sunkyu snickered some, but were silenced by Leeteuk.

“Ah, so that he is huh?” Donghae nodded.

“But aren’t you a little bit too young to have a boyfriend, Donghae?” Leeteuk asked as they walked over the street and the kindergarten came into view.

“No, because our love is real,” Donghae said seriously, stopping in his steps and looked over at Leeteuk, then at Kangin. “Like your love, appa”

“That’s good to hear. Let’s invite him over for dinner sometime, okay?” Kangin told Donghae, who nodded enthusiastically.

Kangin and Leeteuk hugged their children, Sungmin and Sunkyu first, telling them to be good, pecking their cheeks, and sending them through the fence. Sungmin ran quickly over to a tiny kid, playing in the frozen sandbox. Leeteuk had seen Sungmin play with the younger kid sometimes, Leeteuk wasn’t completely sure of his name, but he knew that he was two years younger than the twins, which made him two years old. His bright blue snowcap said “KYU,” in big capital letters. Sunkyu disappeared behind the swings somewhere, looking after her best friend Hyoyeon.

The parents bid their goodbyes to Donghae too, hugging and kissing him until they were interrupted by a tiny voice calling Donghae’s name.

“Donghae-yah, Donghae-yah!” they looked over to discover a child, probably as old as Donghae, jumping cheerfully behind the fence. The boy was so dressed up that Leeteuk barely could make out his face a sharp jawline, high cheekbones and a gummy grin.

“Hyukjae-ah!” Donghae yelled happily and pushed himself off his parents, waved them goodbye before he ran through the port into the kindergarten, and tackled the kid, Hyukjae, into a tight hug. Kangin and Leeteuk studied the two three year olds for a while, watching as Donghae pecked Hyukjae’s red cheeks, and Hyukjae returned the gesture. When Donghae discovered his parents, his eyes grew slightly, his nose scrunching.

“Go home, appas!” he yelled at them, grinning widely. Kangin chuckled as he grabbed Leeteuk’s hand and headed home.
