Leeteuk noticed, as he always did, when Donghae squirmed under the blitz rain, eyes more on Eunhyuk than on the photographers. He pinched Donghae’s arm, not to cause pain but to gain Donghae’s attention, because when Donghae behaved like this, desperate measures were to be used. Leeteuk, who already was standing beside Donghae, as he always did to keep an eye on him, wiggled closer; movements invisible to the photographers who tried to capture Siwon’s flawless grin on film.
“Two hours left, Donghae-ah,” was everything Leeteuk whispered through closed teeth, voice low and slightly muffled because he was smiling at the photographers, eyes on them, but attention on Donghae. Leeteuk knew that there was no use scolding Donghae, because then he’d just squirm more, becoming harder to control; longing more for Eunhyuk than he already did. Leeteuk knew this from experience. Therefore, instead of scolding him, he tried to comfort him. Leeteuk couldn’t comfort him nearly as much as Eunhyuk could, but he tried and Donghae appreciated it, even though he didn’t show it.
Donghae nodded, movement passing past the cameras, but Leeteuk noticed it and smiled a little wider, eyes growing softer. He bit his cheek and tried to calm himself, Leeteuk’s calming words wrapping around his brain, promising. Donghae stole another glance at Eunhyuk, who was looking at the cameras, smiling a wide, gummy smile. The kind of smile Donghae liked the best. His fingers weaving into each other, arm muscles tensing as his brain fought with his muscles. Two hours left.
The two hours walked past like an elderly couple with roller skates. Donghae yelled at them, begging them to speed up because he wanted to go home, back to the dorms, back to Eunhyuk’s room, back to Eunhyuk’s skin. He was seated between Leeteuk and Kyuhyun, both looking at him now and then, sometimes looking past Donghae to look at each other. Beside Kyuhyun sat Siwon, Sungmin, and then Eunhyuk. They were further apart than they had been the whole day, and Donghae hated it. He slightly hated Leeteuk too, because it was he who arranged the seating, placing Eunhyuk away from Donghae. Donghae’s guts had curled when his eyes had followed Eunhyuk past each member, bringing him further and further away from him.
Eunhyuk had looked careless, as Leeteuk had grabbed his arm, just smiling politely at Leeteuk as he was guided to Siwon’s previous seat, sitting down between Sungmin and Ryeowook. Donghae watched like a hawk, studying Eunhyuk’s movements as he settled, making small talk with Sungmin until it got pitch dark. Donghae’s sight had been cut off. The only glimpses he had gotten of Eunhyuk during the two hours was when the stage lights had sparkled and tilted just so that Eunhyuk’s handsome face was revealed, pulled out of the dark for mere seconds before getting wrapped back in. A hand on his thigh brought him back to the present, as well as warm breath on his ear, Kyuhyun.
“Hyung,” Kyuhyun whispered, polite as always, at least when they were outside the dorms. Kyuhyun’s hand found Donghae’s squeezing it once, twice, not letting go. Donghae appreciated it, sort of, but wished that it were Eunhyuk’s hand instead. “We’re almost done, hyung. You’ve done such a good job,”
Kyuhyun praised him the same way as one would praise a child. It makes Donghae feel like a spoiled kid, but he valued Kyuhyun’s words immensely. They were like a pat on his head, an imaginary hand that ran through his hair, scratching softly at his scalp. Donghae puffed his cheeks and looked up at the dark outline that is Kyuhyun. He felt rather than heard Kyuhyun’s chuckle before Kyuhyun crowded closer to Donghae, his hand that was not on Donghae’s squeezed his shoulder once before letting go, pinching Donghae’s air-filled cheeks before disappearing completely. Donghae pouted.
“I swear, sometimes I feel like I’m the hyung here,” Kyuhyun said silently, laughter visible in his voice like the sun on a cloud-free day. Leeteuk shushed them both, voice carrying promises of closure, of home.
The lights were switched on, and Donghae was the first of Super Junior, the first of everybody actually, who rose up from his seat, quickly, like a scared cat. His aim was fixed on Eunhyuk, and he all but leaped at him, stopped by Leeteuk and Kyuhyun’s hands on each of his arms, as well as Siwon’s hand on his chest, all three telling him strictly, but kindly no. Donghae sulked as he was steered back into his place between Leeteuk and Kyuhyun, who grabbed a sleeve each, holding Donghae in place as they slowly, but surely walked out of the hall.
It took forever, at least to Donghae. When they got out of the hall and back onto the red carpet, the same press corps was waiting for them. Donghae didn’t understand why they needed to take pictures of them again, it wasn’t as if they had changed clothes or grown a beard or an extra head while they were inside the building for the past two hours. He forced a smile on his face and thought forward in time. Soon, they’d be inside the cars and then he could touch his Eunhyuk. The thought of being able to touch him after almost three hours made a real smile pop up on Donghae’s face, and he positively grinned at the photographers.
When the photographers finally let them go, focusing on SHINee who had just walked onto the red carpet, Donghae eased his shoulders down, smiling satisified as he followed Leeteuk down the red carpet towards their vans. Leeteuk slid into the van first, sitting down on the first seat he can find, while Donghae stalked to the back of the van, dropping down on the seat where he and Eunhyuk usually sat. He sunk down in the cushion, put on his seat belt, and tilted his head back, closing his eyes, letting his thoughts drift. Donghae woke up later when a car horn pulled him out of his sleep, sitting up abruptly. He yawned heavily and stretched his arms a bit before looking beside him.
“You’re not Eunhyuk!” he exclaimed dumbly as he locked gazes with Kyuhyun, who was sitting in Eunhyuk’s seat, PSP in hand. “What have you done to Eunhyuk? Have you--”
Kyuhyun silenced Donghae by placing a hand on his mouth, dropping his PSP in his lap whilst, rolling his eyes.
“Be silent, hyung. Some of the others are trying to sleep,” Kyuhyun hissed, looking around the car. Donghae’s eyes followed Kyuhyun’s, and surely enough, Kyuhyun was right. Donghae could see the back of Siwon and Yesung’s head, both tilted back, as well as Leeteuk’s head, which was pushed against the window. Small snores and heavy breaths filled the van. In the corner of his eyes, Kyuhyun leaned back, and Donghae’s eyes moved back to see Kyuhyun revealing an asleep Sungmin. Sungmin had his head on Kyuhyun’s shoulder, forehead pushing against Kyuhyun’s neck. Kyuhyun had his right arm wrapped around Sungmin, so that Sungmin was pressed close to his body, one of Sungmin’s arms wrapped around Kyuhyun’s waist.
“Where is Eunhyuk?” Donghae whispered back, after murmuring an apology to Kyuhyun.
“He’s in the other van with Ryeowook and Shindong,”
Donghae let out a frustrated sigh, only to receive Kyuhyun’s elbow in his ribs, which made Donghae glare at him before he turned his head towards the window, staring at the stars. This was completely and utterly unfair. His Eunhyuk was in the other van while Kyuhyun and Sungmin were in this van together. Surely, he was going to tell Leeteuk about it when they all arrived back at the dorm. Oh yes he would.
“Min, Sungmin-ah, we’re here,” Kyuhyun’s soft voice was what woke him up the second time. He had fallen asleep with his face towards the window, but he woke up with his face pressed into Kyuhyun’s jacket clad arm. He looked up and watched how Kyuhyun woke Sungmin up, fingers caressing Sungmin’s chubby cheeks, lips pressing kisses onto Sungmin’s forehead, nose, and lips.
Jealousy coiled up in Donghae’s stomach, not because he was jealous of Kyuhyun or Sungmin, but because he wasn’t woken up like that. He too wanted to be woken up with little kisses and the loving voice of a caring boyfriend. But no, Eunhyuk was in the other freaking car, busy fooling around with Shindong and Ryeowook, not caring whether Donghae was woken up softly or roughly.
Donghae pressed past Kyumin and walked quickly through the rest of the van, which surprisingly enough was empty. He jumped out of the van, his shoes hitting the pavement as he immediately started to scout after Eunhyuk. To Donghae’s big surprise, the second van was nowhere to be seen.
“Hey, where’s the second van?” Donghae poked his head back into the van and asked Kyuhyun, who successfully has woken up Sungmin and was busy buttoning up Sungmin’s jacket, as Sungmin rubbed his eyes tiredly. If Donghae had paid attention to something else than Eunhyuk that second, he would’ve thought it was endearing.
“The others arrived here at least ten minutes before we did, since we drove Siwon home,” Kyuhyun replied, not looking up at Donghae, continuing to dress Sungmin carefully.
Donghae’s heart quickly started to beat faster, as he just yelled thanks to Kyuhyun and Sungmin before he started to run towards the building. Luckily, there were no press corps or fans on the spot, so Donghae didn’t need to look cool. Inside the elevator, Donghae hammered on the 11th floor button, his entire body tingling as the 11th floor came closer and closer. When the elevator door opened at the 11th floor, Donghae raced out, down the hall and more or less threw himself at the door, knocking the air out of his lungs. It felt like forever before somebody, Henry, opened the door.
“Hi hyung,” Henry greeted, a big smile on his face. He didn't step out of the way. “What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be-” Donghae threw himself at Henry, despite Henry being taller, Donghae was still somewhat heavier, so he effectively managed to push him down on the floor, pecking Henry quickly on the cheek, muttering apologies in both Korean and English before scrambling up from Henry and the floor; dashing towards Eunhyuk’s room. In the distant, he could hear Kyuhyun and Sungmin enter through the same door, both asking Henry why he was on the floor.
Donghae practically tore Eunhyuk’s door off its hinges as he busted into Eunhyuk, the door slamming close behind him.
“Donghae?” Eunhyuk stood in the middle of the room, Donghae almost cried at the sight of him. He had changed out of the suit that he had been wearing earlier, and pulled on a pair of checkered purple pajama bottoms and a washed out white t-shirt, looking wonderfully ruffled. However, he’d look much better naked. “Why are you still wearing your suit?”
Donghae stripped off his jacket, throwing it over his shoulder. He then proceeded to kick off his shoes, pull off his tie, and unbuckle his belt before he collided with Eunhyuk, who stumbled a few steps backwards, but otherwise remained stable. Donghae wrapped his hands around Eunhyuk’s neck, burying his face in Eunhyuk’s shirt clad chest, inhaling the scent of mint, blackcurrant, and thyme.
“Have you showered?” Donghae asked Eunhyuk, standing straight. Eunhyuk nodded.
“You guys came half an hour after us, of course I have,” Eunhyuk answered, flashing his precious gummy smile. The one Donghae loved. Donghae let his hands on Eunhyuk’s neck run through the moist, blonde hair at the back of Eunhyuk’s head. “You going to shower?”
“No, I don’t want to,” Donghae mumbled, scrunching his nose slightly, pouting. He stepped closer to Eunhyuk, their chests brushing. “I want to sleep. With you. I’ve missed you all day,”
Eunhyuk chuckled; one of Donghae’s favorite sounds in the whole world, almost equal to the sounds Eunhyuk makes when he comes. Eunhyuk’s hands, which previously hung at Eunhyuk’s sides, reached over to Donghae’s body and started to untuck Donghae’s shirt from his pants.
“You can sleep here if you want to, of course,” Eunhyuk said fondly, fingers slipping underneath Donghae’s shirt, stroking the soft skin at the small of Donghae’s back. “Do you want to borrow pajama pants and a t-shirt from me, or?”
“I wanna sleep here, but, “Donghae muttered, looking up at Eunhyuk, biting his lower lip.
“But what?” Eunhyuk asked, smirk evident in his voice. Donghae muttered something, but neither Eunhyuk nor he himself could hear what he said. Eunhyuk looked at Donghae, one eyebrow crocked.
“I want to sleep without clothes, with you,” Donghae whispered, it barely reached Eunhyuk’s ears, but it did because Donghae saw Eunhyuk’s smirk soften, replaced by a smile. He let go of Donghae and grabbed the hem of his t-shirt, starting to pull it over his head.
“No! I wanna do it, Hyukkie!” Donghae exclaimed, slapping Eunhyuk’s hands away, pulling Eunhyuk’s shirt over his head, revealing his lean, toned body to Donghae’s eyes. He threw the shirt somewhere behind him and ran his hands down Eunhyuk’s chest and stomach, enjoying the feeling of his hard torso underneath his fingers. Just as Donghae hooked his thumbs in Eunhyuk’s pajama bottoms, Eunhyuk fisted Donghae’s shirt and pulled at it, causing the buttons to pop, and the fabric falling down around his arms, bunching up around his shoulders. Eunhyuk proceeded to unbutton Donghae’s suit pants, and without the belt keeping the pants up, they fell straight down, pooling around Donghae’s ankles, leaving him with only his neon green boxers. Eunhyuk grinned and pulled them down as well, his arms hooking under each of Donghae’s arms, lifting him up and out of the bunch of clothes gathered around his legs. Eunhyuk threw him on the bed close by before he stripped himself of his pajama bottoms. Yes, Eunhyuk was stronger than he looked. Donghae wasn’t surprised when he saw that Eunhyuk hadn’t worn briefs underneath them, since he rarely does.
“Hey. I wanted to do that,” Donghae complained with a pout as Eunhyuk kicked his pajama bottoms onto the heap of Donghae’s clothes before he crawled onto the bed, pulling off Donghae’s socks in the process, throwing them onto the floor too. Donghae scooted further up on Eunhyuk’s tiny bed; there was really only room for one person, but the pair was used to sleeping so close to each other, that wasn’t a problem. Eunhyuk pulled the comforter up with him, covering both their bodies.
Donghae spread his legs, and Eunhyuk took the hint and sat down in between them, pulling Donghae’s legs over his thighs, dragging Donghae closer to him. When Donghae was as close as he could be, Eunhyuk wrapped his arms around Donghae’s waist, supporting him, making it easier for him to sit straight. Eunhyuk leaned closer as he dragged Donghae closer, connecting their lips. Donghae sighed against Eunhyuk’s lips and opened his mouth willingly for Eunhyuk’s tongue. Donghae slipped his arms around Eunhyuk’s neck, balancing on his thighs, he wanted closer to Eunhyuk, closer to Eunhyuk’s skin. Their kiss was slow and languid, tongues sliding against each other, mouths in perfect synch, leaving Donghae’s brain completely empty except for Eunhyuk.
Eunhyuk ended the kiss, having a little problem to do so, as Donghae followed Eunhyuk’s mouth, leaving Eunhyuk no other choice than to shove slightly at Donghae’s shoulder to force him to let go of his mouth. He shook his head at Donghae, smiling softly as he rearranged their positions, pushing Donghae down into the mattress, turning Donghae so that he lay with his back against Eunhyuk’s chest. The way Eunhyuk preferred to sleep.
Donghae loved the feel of Eunhyuk’s skin against his own, no clothing in the way. It was just them underneath the comforter. Lying like that was when Donghae felt safest, most protected, most loved. Love in one of its purest forms looked like this. Being able to be so open, trust your lover, boyfriend, so much that you undress every layer until you’re left in only your vulnerable skin.
Eunhyuk slid one arm underneath Donghae’s waist, splaying his fingers over Donghae’s hipbone. His other hand trailed from Donghae’s ribs, over his hips and stopped at his thigh, fingertips skirting on the soft skin of Donghae’s thigh. Donghae shivered at the feeling; Eunhyuk chuckled against his skin, his chest vibrating against Donghae’s spine. A pair of dry lips brushed against Donghae’s neck just as Donghae felt something poke his thigh.
“Hyukjae,” Donghae said strictly, tiredly. Too worn out to scold Eunhyuk, but also too tired to do something about it. “Please, I just-”
“Yeah I know,” Eunhyuk, replied, voice low and rough, doing something to Donghae’s insides, but he was so tired. Eunhyuk wiggled some, and the press on Donghae’s thigh vanished. He slid his hand to Donghae’s front and entwined it with one of Donghae’s own Eunhyuk’s thumb brushing over the top of Donghae’s hand.
“Hyukkie, I-” Donghae yawned, but Eunhyuk spoke before Donghae could continue.
“I know,” Eunhyuk, whispered, lips pressed against the top of Donghae’s spine. “I too,”
