("The Life I Lead" sung by David Tomlinson in
Mary Poppins (1964))
I've been working a lot recently, but I had a great weekend with the family, capped off with watching Mary Poppins with Malafrena and the kids on the couch, though Wee One curled up and fell asleep half-way through.
Anyway, some random thoughts from the movie:
- I'm tempted to learn "The Life I Lead" and sing it every day when I come home from work.
- I'd love to see Wee One dress up as a suffragette for halloween - complete with fancy hat and "votes for women" sash.
- "A British Nanny" made me LOL on several levels: "A British bank is run with precision / A British home requires nothing less! / Tradition, discipline, and rules must be the tools / Without them - disorder! / Catastrophe! Anarchy!"
- Seeing Julie Andrews in a corset reminded me that I need to see Victor Victoria again - I haven't seen it since my dad took me to see it in a theater when I was 11.
And here's Julie Andrews singing "Crazy World" in Victor Victoria:
