Acrobat Professional 8 - Print-Preview, checking print-colours. Doing so with a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y- the same file (first opened and checked on one computer, than the other (without saving in between)): one computer says, the color red consists of 100% Magente, 100% Yellow. My computer states: 94% Magenta, 89% Yellow.............. Both PCs, both

I'm just terribly confused - it's against the laws of nature! *grin* Any ideas (just like occams_pyramid might help... But then again: this file is supposed to be a print-file that's "treiberunabhängig" - was leider die Theorie mit den unterschiedlichen Druckervoreinstellungen stark einschränkt!!

"Freistellen" ist mask or extract in english - and no problem! Best would be next weekend - and with your fluffy hair it would be best if I had the color of the background you want to place the pic on - but lets talk about that in german and via mail/phone, okay? :-)

"Driver-independent" and "profile-independent" aren't the same thing. The format is the same regardless of the driver, but evidently it's already applied the output profile.

Could it be that the two computers have different printers configured?

Different colour temperature setup? Different printer or paper configuration?

This is a matter of what's called "ICC color profiles," which try to adjust for the difference between devices. I assume that print preview is taking into account the printer profile, and telling you what the output color will be for it. Do you have the same printer configured on both computers?
