Familial feelings

[Blake and Avon are in a flyer on their way home after dropping off Melina. The medical check-up went well. The baby was perfect and Melina was healthy and all was right with the world. Blake can't stop grinning and glancing at Avon.]

*smiles* It means you get the bigger slice when we share the last piece of cheesecake.

[Blake glances at Avon and grins.] We should probably discuss acquiring our own house.

[kerr_avon]

Yes. Cordai iis an excellent host, but it would be better to have a place of our own. *thoughtfully* I wonder if we could get a permit for a one-ship landing space, and keep Aurora there?

[roj_blake]

I don't see why not. I'm sure Cordai knows the right people to speak to about it. [pause] Do you think we'll need a big house?

[kerr_avon]

*Thinks for approximately two seconds* Not immediately, but I suspect we will in the future, so why not get it now?

[roj_blake]

[Blake nods. He can see the landing pad, and he concentrates on getting the flyer down before he speaks again.] *wistfully* Maybe someday we'll be able to move our children to Earth.

[kerr_avon]

Perhaps. *softly* Someday.

[roj_blake]

[Blake turns to Avon and smiles.] We will. Someday we will. [He stretches out his hand.]

[kerr_avon]

[Avon takes Blake's hand.] But first there's the minor matter of the Federation to take care of. *pause* Have you decided on our next move?

[roj_blake]

*sigh* Yes. I think we need to see Grant. And as the leaders of Niue for help.

[kerr_avon]

[Avon tightens his grip on Blake's hand.] Yes. I thought that might be next. Grant may be... difficult.

[roj_blake]

Don't worry. We came to an agreement the last time we met. *grins* If he forgets himself, I'll hit him again.

I'm sure the two of you will get on very well.
