(no subject)
Got together with the Wombats on Saturday, and it was nice. The party was a lot more tame than last year's (and fewer gals attended, too) but it was still fun. I actually went swimming in the pool this year, go me.
And I wore heels to dinner, not something I typically do. But I managed to not fall on my face, so that was a plus!
Yesterday afternoon we sold Knight's green car to hippychicx, who was pleased as punch to finally have a reliable mode of transportation with all its parts present and accounted for. If we'd had been able to locate the actual title, things would have gone a lot smoother, but she_smiles_down and hippychicx were able to go down the road to a used car dealership and get a title reassignment form (or whatever they are called), then we located an on-call notary public to witness all the signatures and everything, so eventually we were able to give flyrod and 'chicx a proper title to the vehicle, yay!
When that hoopla was finished, we went to see Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Loved the movie, very cool! Lots of action, plus a good comedic aspect to it as well. I <3 Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie rocks the house too. Definitely worthwhile to see it, IMO. YMMV.
talathmeril is coming over this evening to watch Firefly with me, so we'll have it all watched (again, in my case) before the movie comes out (she's never seen more than an episode or two).
I also have a cake to bake tonight (mostly from a mix) for the 2nd Annual Cake Mailing Contest. One slice gets put into a ziploc baggie, then into a manilla envelope, and the coordinator judges it on various credentials like smooshiness, taste, etc., when it gets where it's going. Heh. I figure what the heck, it sounds like fun, and we get to keep the rest of the cake. It's a win-win situation, IMO. ;)
