Today was overall a good day.
* I went shopping with someone else's money (well, a voucher, but it counts) to buy cute-but-useful clothing for a 10 year old who really needed them. I got to buy stuff in her favorite colors, which are also coincidentally MY favorite colors (viz: pink and purple). I found a lot of really good deals -- for $150 she got three pairs of pants, three pair of shorts, about 7 tops (one sweater, the rest t's and tanks), a 9-pk of undies, a 6-pk of socks, 3 training bras (I was told she needed some and what size), a sleepshirt, and a pair of pajamas/loungewear with Tinkerbell on them. I think that's all. Phew!
* I got to leave work early (2:15) for a follow-up doctor's appointment for my one year post-op check.
* The lab tech got blood on the first draw. :)
* The doc (and staff) were very pleased with my progress (-143 lbs per their scales, only about 15 of which was lost since my visit in November). Assuming I remember to go to the Bari group support meeting next Monday at 5pm, I'll get my one year pin. Oooh, ahh.
* I bought a new lock for my gym locker -- a combination lock, wherein I can set the combination to something that I'll actually remember. It's spiffy.
* I went to the gym (finally). Since I haven't been in nearly two months, I took it a little easy today. Walked a mile, did some reps on the machines, went home. But at least I went, so yay me!
* Played a game of Scrabble. I lost, but only by about 20-25 points. I don't mind losing (much) when it's close. Sometimes you just get shitty letters. Them's the breaks.
* Ordered tickets to see Tim Wilson at the local comedy club this Friday night with
talathmeril and her hubby.
* Went for a drive in Knight's car to drop off a DVD to Araelle's ex. Some teen girls down the block from his house were hanging out on their front stoop, and as we drove by (with the top down) one of them yelled "I WANT YOUR CAR!" at us. Boy was she embarrassed when we pulled into the driveway a few doors down -- she quickly yelled "Nevermind!" I think she may have run into her house at that point, but I couldn't tell as we were laughing too hard!
* Came home and made some shells 'n cheese, which I topped with leftover chili for dinner. Yummy!
* Now I'm gonna go play another game of Scrabble, and hope I can win!
