She wallowed.
Opening her mind, her mouth,
her voice keening like the wind.
Sharp and unbearable grief
blubbered from the pit of her soul -
sputtering and spitting
like bacon grease, singeing fingers
fraught with frustration,
clinging to any bits of hope.
She swallowed.
Closing down her mouth, her mind,
her heart beating like a drum.
Dull and unyielding satisfaction
chewing at the insides of her soul -
belly swollen and splitting
like crackling logs on a campfire
fueling her devastation,
heavy with hopelessness.
She grew.
