NaPoWriMo #2 - Entropy

Apr 03, 2015 15:47

swirlsofblue requested a Tiny Poem on Entropy. Considering the topic, is it a wonder that I'm a day late? ;)

Entropy

Dust monsters breed haphazardly
beneath my bed, like radiated rabbits,
snorting and sporting pale grey puffs
of dandelion hair.

My cats lazily play with them,
batting at balls of disordered stuff -
socks and old magazines, crumpled receipts
and stir sticks - any old thing
that lands there, resolutely remains.

Entropy is the joule in my crown.

poetry, friends, personal
