This 'n That
In which I sum up...
* Ordered a new pair of glasses this past Saturday from WalMart. It has been several years since I've had a new pair, and my current ones have a large scratched area on the right lens, from inappropriate cleaning at some point (whoops).
* The new glasses should be ready by February 15th, possibly earlier. Shockingly, I found a lovely pair of frames which - of the five frames I eventually narrowed everything down to - were the cheapest of the bunch! Usually, my tastes tend towards the most expensive, LOL. The frames that I chose were only $28; the $94 frames were almost identical, except for being purple and silver instead of metallic pink. The shape and width of the lenses matched, and both looked quite nice on me. Of course, the lenses were expensive because they are thin, no-line bifocals, but they would have cost the same regardless of which frame the were in!
* My current frames are a middling tortoiseshell brown, with a little gold bling on the outside edge of the earpiece. The pinkish ones will be a nice change!
* On the other hand, my current glasses have magnetically attachable sunglasses, which the new ones don't. I'm thinking of purchasing an inexpensive pair of prescription sunglasses through Zenni Optical.
* We have about 3-4" of snow on the ground after last night. Not a huge amount compared to some, but it was enough that hubby shoveled out the driveway when he got home from work!
* Speaking of work... back to the grindstone I go. Ciao!
