Odd Gal is Out (of LJ Idol Ex B)

Aug 20, 2013 02:09

Apparently, I'm just doomed to be odd.

In season 8 of therealljidol, I got the boot in my 99th week of play (total active weeks between seasons 4-8), and thus didn't reach the lofty 100 Week goal. Yes, I'll reach it once I survive Week 1 of season 9, so it isn't that big a deal, but it's just damned annoying to have to wait so long (from the end of season 8, all through Exhibits A and B, and up through whenever season 9 finally starts).

But I digress.

This evening - I suppose technically yesterday, as it is after midnight now - I got eliminated from LJ Idol: Exhibit B, without making it into the coveted Top 10. Due to my standings in the poll, I wound up in 11th place.

99 weeks overall (hence my Agent 99 icons).
11th place this mini-season.
1 stumped Ro.

Don't get me wrong, I'm overall quite pleased with how well I did this mini-season, and I do think that my fictional prowess has grown, but dammit I was *really* hoping to get into the Top 10. It's hard to say if I did "better" place-wise this mini-season versus all the other seasons that I've played, as there have been different numbers of players starting out, and of course I've finished in different places overall. I know my Exhibit B run was a better finish than Exhibit A was, but otherwise I really have no clue.

I very much appreciate all the feedback and support that I've received during my run in this mini-season and all prior seasons. Thanks also go to my three intersection partners from this season (copyright1983, similiesslip, and alycewilson) for putting up with my oddball ideas and being excellent co-writers, and to both alycewilson and kathrynrose for being Beta readers for me every now and then as schedules and deadlines permitted.

Good luck to the Top 10, and I'll still be haunting the Green Rooms and throwing out bad puns and uber-appropriate iconage as is my habit. If anyone missed reading any of my Idol entries, just click on my lj_idol tag.

So long, and Thanks for all the Fish!
