An Update of Actual Content, w00t!
Currently, in the Life of Ro:
* Been having some minor cold-like symptoms for the past week. Might be allergies, not really sure. Some mild stuffiness and extra snot/mucosal production. Extraneous coughing for no apparent reason, sometimes hard enough to give me a headache, but not often enough that I feel the need for cough syrup (bleh). I can go several hours without coughing, then will cough off an on for half an hour or so. It doesn't matter if I'm at work or at home (as far as possible environmental issues). *shrug*
* I got a Groupon a few weeks ago for a chiropractic exam & adjustment followed by a 60-minute massage (the chiro is right next door to the massage place). The Groupon was just $39, which I think is a great deal, since it's easy to spend way more than that on just the massage alone. I've never been to a chiropractor before, although several of my co-workers have had adjustments done and love it. I also know that my friend
trekwriter swears by them. I don't know what to expect, having never done it, and of course everyone here has been to different practitioners. Insights? My appointment is for tomorrow morning!
* I haven't yet heard back regarding the Villanelle poem that I submitted via email for possible publication about six weeks ago. I would assume that they will let me know either way, whether it is a yes or a no? I hate waiting.
* Speaking of waiting and things being timely, I brought my watch in to Walmart this past weekend since the battery died. Well, the staff at the jewelry counter apparently needs a waiver signed, just in case they bungle things. So, fine. I signed the waiver, they changed the battery without issue (although it took some prying to get the back off). It was $5 for a new battery, no biggie. So as I put the watch back on the (well worn) purple leather band breaks! *sigh* So of course I have to buy a new band (black) for $10. I might as well have just bought a new watch... ah well, I've become accustomed to this face, LOL.
* Me 'n Pillsbury made a batch of banana muffins this morning. They are yummy, and my co-workers really appreciated them!
* Hubby and I and the housemates will be heading down to Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge, TN for the July 4th holiday. They put on a great fireworks show there in Patriot Park, and our hotel has an awesome view of them. We plan to drive down that Wednesday (the 4th) and stay until sometime on Saturday. Not sure what we plan on doing once we're down there (we've been fairly frequently) but I guess we'll figure it out between now and then. Maybe Dollywood, maybe some mini golf, who knows.
* It's FRIDAY. That deserves its own mention, especially since I can't think of anything else more important to add, so I guess I'll just sign off here!
