Bowling Update and Other Stuff
I've gotten behind on reading LJ. I caught up with today's postings, but that's about it.
Anyhoo, today was a nice, relaxing Memorial Day. Slept in, watched some TV with the hubby before he went to bed for the day, played around on Facebook, then went out to Kohl's and picked up two more shirts and a pair of nice black slacks, and spent just enough ($51 and change - the minimum purchase was $50) to get a $10 Kohl's gift card, w00t. Stopped at the grocery store on the way home to pick up a few incidentals.
Tonight was bowling as usual - our competitors pre-bowled, I suppose because of the holiday weekend - so we got done about 45 minutes earlier than usual. My entering average his week went down to a 113, and it started out looking like this week would be as bad as last week's had been, with a 97 in the first game and a 103 in the second. Fortunately, I pulled it together in the third game and saved my average with a 134, which included somehow picking up the 4, 7, 10 split in the 10th frame, HELL YEAH.
Alas, there's no patch for that in our league, but it was a nice end to an otherwise mediocre game.
minikin had three awesome games - I don't remember her exact scores, but two of the three games were over 150! At any rate, we wound up taking 3 of the 4 points, which will hopefully keep us in first place in our section (there are three sections each with 10 or so teams, divided up based on the ages of the Youths, so that teenagers aren't bowling against elementary school kids).
After bowling, I made a pot of vegetable beef soup per Knight's request, then we relaxed for the rest of the evening. And now, it is late, so I'm heading off to bed. G'night!
