Greetings from Myrtle Beach!

Knight and I spent almost all day on Tuesday driving to Myrtle Beach, SC. He did most of the driving (he usually does) but I drove the last 120 miles or so, as he was exhausted by then, having worked the night before our trip. We arrived around 10pm, ordered dinner in, and relaxed in the room for the rest of the night.

Today we slept late, then had a yummy lunch at a nearby Mexican restaurant called La Hacienda in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Afterwards, we picked up a frappuccino for me at the Starbucks located inside a Kroger's grocery store, then drove to North Myrtle Beach to a shopping plaza called Barefoot Landing, where we browsed through the shops for a bit then went to the T.I.G.E.R.S (The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species) Preservation Station and had our photo taken with a white Royal Bengal tiger on our laps!!

I'm not sure how old the tiger was, but with Knight and I sitting next to each other on a bench, it took up *both* of our laps... and my lap is not insufficient in size, LOL! The tiger was young enough that it was still being bottle-fed, and indeed I got to hold the bottle while he sat on our laps. Knight had the tail end of the gorgeous beastie on his lap, LOL!

I think I got the better end of the deal, although we both got to rub the tiger's belly. =)

We also got to hold an adorable gibbon monkey and have our photos taken with him, and while he was adorable neither of us saw the need to pay extra for the photo.

After a bit more browsing through the shops, we had dinner at the Giant Crab seafood buffet. The food was decent, but not really worth writing home about (although apparently it was good enough to be mentioned in my blog).

Tomorrow (okay, later today) we're going to head down to Brookgreen Gardens, then after dinner we plan to go see Iron May 2 at the midnight showing.

Off to bed now... g'night!

food, travel
