Wow, so much has happened since i last updated. I started school and pretty much love it here. I will not give you blow by blow account of life here but its pretty good minus the male visitation rules and no PDA *even hugging* with anyone in uniform and i hate quarters, when all freshmen corps cadets have to be in their dorms by seven at night and are not allowed to talk on phone or AIM. Minus all that crap life is pretty good here, its quite pretty and its small enough so that I know a good bit of the people who live here.
I also thought that living on a hall with twenty five other girls would be a living hell but i love it. i have made some amazing friends and we are all crazy. when the guys come visit me they all remark on how crazy we all are. for example we run up and down the halls, randomly walk into other peoples rooms, play soccer in the hallway with those massive inflatable balls you get at wallmart for a coupla dollars, and make fun of some of the stupid stuff certain people in the corps have to do. we usually end up going to wendys or taco bell or wallmart at eleven or midnight in the middle of the week just because we are bored. at north georgia, "im bored, im going to wally world, want anything?" is fairly common since its basically the only thing up here besides a few banks, a Moes *i heart moes!*, wendys, taco bell, and zaxbys. even though as andrew repeatedly pointed out, we dont have as much stuff as university of georgia, most people at uga dont go muddin' in the middle of the week when they are bored and some guy has a truck and hes bored too. for those of you who dont know muddin is a combination of off roading and getting your truck as dirty as humanly possible by getting a really big muddy pit and repreatedly driving through it.
i have found out that you have to seek out the non alcoholics. it is somewhat difficult since the simple existence of the corps exaggerates the tendencies to sleep around and binge drink, but i believe i have found some really good friends who do neither. that in itself is refreshing. i have also found out that any guy who can make me laugh so hard i cry and doesnt drink is pretty much a guy i would date.
to those of you who knew me in highschool, you will be amazed to find out that i have gained a sense of style and am dressing up more now. tis quite amazing.
its quite funny listening to the corps freshmen sound off which means they have to say "good afternoon (give rank then company motto)" some of the mottos are "death from above" "death before dishonor" "never quit" "keep up the fire" "cold steel quick to kill" and so forth. its also more than entertaining to listen to them do their cadences wen they are marching or running in the morning for pt *physical training* i cant remember the exact words but i love sitting there before precal on the bench listening to them run by singing. its quite special.
but since i have a world civ test on teus, i must depart to study....
i would rather have a shack on a rock than a castle made of sand- casting crowns
