Well, as a way of getting my ass writing, (Lee asked me the other day if I ever get any writing done) I signed up for stilettocamp. My daily goal is 150 words.

A day runs whenever my day runs. So from when I get home in the afternoon till I go to bed.

I haven't gone to bed yet, therefore, still Wednesday.

Goal: 150
Final Count: 260

this is just something I wrote out. It's not part of any fandom. I just needed a push to get started, so this is what I started with. Probably, I'll be posting this is my writing journal as well.

He stood.

She sat in a chair across the room.

They could do this.

"I can't do this."

"Yes you can, don't be silly. It's not that hard, sweetie."

He crossed the room towards her. Picking up the telephone from the table beside her, he dialed the number he'd known all his life. "Mom? It's Scott. I've got some news for you. You might want to sit down. And is Dad there? He is, good," Scott paused, catching his breath. "You're not going to believe this."

She grabbed the phone from him, "Jean? Hi, it's Marie. Your son is hyperventilating right now. He's very silly. Apparently, it's hard for him to tell you that I said yes." She grinned into the phone. "I thought you two would enjoy hearing that. I'm very excited too."

"Here, sweetie, your dad wants to talk with you," Marie said handing the phone back to Scott.

He talked with his dad for a few more minutes, and then hung up the phone. "Your turn," he said, grinning.

"Oh, no," she said into her hands, shaking her head.

He picked the phone up again, and dialed the only number he'd ever memorized the first time he dialed it. "John? Marie has something to tell you and Anne," he said and then held the phone out for her to grab.

"Hi Daddy," she said with the voice that melted her father's heart. "Scott asked me to marry him and I said yes," she continued, honey in her voice. Grinning, "Momma's crying. Told you I could do it."
