ABSOLUTE BRILLIANCE!!!

I just came back from seeing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. My word to describe it?
BRILLIANT.
And that's all.
The special effects were magnificiant, the story remained in tact, I nearly cried when Cedric died (I didn't feel so emotionally attached to him in the books; I'm not sure why), Fred and George were hysterical (not that I expected anything different), beautiful foreshadowing for Barty!Moody, Ron has very nice arms (random, I realize, I just noticed that though because he kept wearing tank tops)...
I could keep going except it would be pointless.
Let's just say it was BRILLIANT.
It's BRILLIANCE does not blind me to the fact there were flaws, however.
Main things I had a gripe with:
1. Missing Barty!Moody encounters - Harry never discusses being an auror with Barty!Moody, nor does he have his little Imperious lessons with him. These things I consider to be central to future developments.
2. Where did the sphinx go? - There was a sphinx in the maze in the books. I brought up the importance of the sphinx in my Oedipus/Harry theory that I posted a while ago (last month?). There was a reason that particular creature was in there. As a matter of fact, there weren't any creatures in the maze. It was the Champions against each other and some fiesty tree roots.
3. Hermione's characterization - since when did Hermione stop studying and become a worrying mother / giggler? It was a little unnerving. I really felt that they didn't quite capture her properly, which was sad, because I really like her (I actually dressed up as her today - S.P.E.W. button and all)
Minor things I had a gripe with:
1. Rita Skeeter was never revealed to be an illegal animagus.
2. Fleur was never revealed to be a veela. In fact, the word 'veela' is never uttered.
3. The pensieve vision was in color (A friend actually pointed this out to me, but after he said it, it kept bothering me).
4. Where did the time go? There was approximately 10 minutes of school and the rest of the movie was the Triwizard Cup. I understand why this had to be done (which is why it is merely a minor gripe), but characterization suffered.
All and all, it has been my favorite movie thus far. I very much like the new director. PoA was good, but I think I liked it because I went into the theater expecting it to be good (PoA is my favorite book). GoF blew me away.
GO SEE THIS MOVIE IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT AS OF YET.
