The inexorably closing door

Just feelin a little blue after coming home from a festival in Adachi tonight. For the first time since I came to Japan, I've been really starting to think about my limited time here in Japan. At the very end, the announcer on the PA said, "Thank you for coming to the festival and we'll see you again next year!" and it occured to me that I wouldn't be here next year.
But aside from that, it was a pretty cool festival! It was a nice little small town festival. Pete was our generous host as he led the new Motomiya JET and I around. As expected, we ran into his student about 2 every minute. =) It's always really fun to run around on someone else's turf and see how his/her students act around them.
