Thoght I'd finally write a little about what I did last weekend, nothing major, but I did get out of the house. :)
Met up with JC and Sol on Saturday afternoon. We headed for the nearest Blockbuster, and ended up renting six films. Apparantly you get 1 old movie free for each new release you choose, so we took full advantage of that offer. Once we'd gotten our movies we started walking to their flat, had a brief stop at Tesco to get some goodies, and we were ready for some serious movie viewing.
We started out with
The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (as choosen by JC and Sol). I didn't like the first one, but this one was actually pleasant. I felt the first one was extremely cutsy and sweet, I could practically feel my teeth rotting as I watched it. But this one wasn't even close to that bad. I was pleasantly surprised. I was able to spot the ending befor the beginning credits were finished, but who couldn't? Not a top notch movie, but as I said, I had fun with this one.
After the first movie, we were all starving. So we ventured out into the freezing cold and bought two pizzas, the shop had a very nice 'buy 1, get one free' offer, so we took full advantage of that. When the pizzas were ready we hurried back to the flat, and started watching
The 24th Day while stuffing our faces. Pizza was very good. The movie was good too, not how I expected it to be, but I liked it. I read a few days later that it was based on a play, so then it made a bit more sense to me.
James Marsden is kidnapped by
Scott Speedman, and it's basically them on screen all the time. There are some other scenes, but most of the story takes place in
Scott Speedman's appartement. It might end up in my DVD collection sometime.
After that we finally watched
The Grudge. It gave me a good fright, but am wondering if I should blame JC and Sol's screaming for some of my jumps. Hehe. It was a simple story, but well made, and I did get stressed. I do want to see the original some time, though I've heard that they're practicall the same. It might also end up in my collection, I love scary movies, so it definetly deserves a spot. Sad thing is, that the more I think about it the simpler the whole film seems, will stop thinking about it stat! :)
We finished off the evening with
Heathers. It was a good movie, but the subject kind of killed the enjoyment for me. I will recomend it to people because it is a good film. JC found it hilarious. Sol was sleeping through it though. That's why we finished off after that film. I think JC and I were ready for another film, but that wouldn't have been fair on poor Sol. So we all headed for bed.
Sunday was even more laid back, if you can imagine that. We went out quickly to get some breakfast then hurried back to the flat and watched episode 1-6 of Lost, they are both hooked now. Will probably have to show them more some other time.
We finished off the whole marathon with
Fatal Attraction, so now I've finally seen it. Personally I think every man should be forced to watch this before they get married, just as a warning. Hehe. I thought it was good for an 80s movie, and some parts did get me stressed.
After that we all headed back to the House for cake-time. I didn't get to see the last movie we rented,
Evolution, but that's okay, because I've seen it before.
All in all a very pleasant weekend. JC and Sol said they were up for doing it again sometime, which would be fun. :)
Yesterday I went to the theatre with Lars and his wife Benedicte (#2).
We saw
A Life in the Thearte. I must admit that I only went to see
Patrick Stewart and
Joshua Jackson, but it was fun. The play itself was a bit fragmented, showing different times in the lifes of two actors, and how they work together. It was funny, and it was just the two of them on stage the whole time.
It's the forth time I've ever been to the theatre. And two of those times, I saw it because of who was in it. The two others were more of an obligation, even though I had fun at both. :)
Sadly I think Lars was a bit dissapointed, but he did finally get to see
Patrick Stewart live. He's a big Star Trek: The Next Generation fan, so he also really just went because of who was in the play.
But I had fun, and I'd like to go again, hopefully get some better seats. :) Will have to see when I come back to London after easter. :)
That's about it from my exiting life ;P Have no plans this weekend. Might be a chance to hit the cinema with Benedicte (#1) and Nina either today or tomorrow. Tonight there's the norwegian and British finals of the Eurovision Song contest, and they're planning something around it here at the house, so I'll most likely go down and have a look at that.
(Can't be bothered to reread, and check spelling, hope it's all understandable.)
