Am really tired right now, and I have no idea why as I didn't have to get up early this morning... Oh! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Finally finished my essay yesterday, it's not that great, but am hoping it'll get me a passing grade, and that's all I'm really aiming for anyway.
Anyways... think I'll give you mini-reviews of the films I've seen lately:
First off "
Into the Blue". I laughed... I laughed really hard, but for all the wrong reasons.
Ashley Scott was just horrible in this, and made all the others seem like really good actors.
Josh Brolin just seemed like he was bored out of his mind. My favourite line in the movie has to be whan a girl is captured by the beddie (to keep things spoiler free), and he says something like; 'If I didn't have such a sweet tooth I'd have killed you already.' I mean, come on! I could feel my IQ dropping. This is one of those movies that makes me believe that I could be a screenwriter, seriously. You hear
Beluga ! We've gotta finish our screenplays! In other words... don't wast your money on this film... if you're that desperate to see girls in bikinis go watch
"Baywatch" or something.
'
Corpse Bride' on the other hand, I found rather enjoyale. The songs in '
The Nightmare Before Christmas' are more catchy, but then again this is a entirely different kind of story. I laughed quite a bit during this films too, but this time for the right reasons. Am thinking this will end up in my collection... hmmm, seems like
Tim Burton is growing on me. This is a perfect movie to watch on Halloween if you can't take the really scary stuff. I really enjoyed the voicework as well, and even though I saw the ending a mile away there was enough going on to keep me interrested and entertained.
I finally got my second viewing of '
Serenity' on Saturday. I'd dragged Benedicte along, because I wanted to convert someone, and I figured having another person here at the house backing the film might get more people to go. One very happy thing was that it was over three weeks since it's release here in the UK, and the theatre was almost full! That made me so very very happy! Ok... but now the movie. All I can say this time is WOW. It really helped to get a little distance from the show and my first viewing, so this time I was able to really enjoy it and soak up the glory of this movie. I want... no I need the DVD now! The thing that cautght me so off guard last time and left me reeling after my first viewing wasn't exactly enjoyable this time either, but knowing that it was coming helped me a lot. I'm so very happy with this movie.. I don't know if
Joss Whedon has enough material for a sequel, but I've learned that the man is full of ideas, so I am really hoping that it will happen. There is no wonder that this movie has found a place among the
top 250 films on
IMDB. Now, seriously, if you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a big favour and go and check it out! Benedicte liked it, she thought it was a bit scary, but she enjoyed herself. I think I have another convert. :)
Watched a video the other day; '
Cry-Baby'. The only reason I checked it out was because someone told me that
Johnny Depp does his own singing, but when the boy opened his mouth the first thing in my mind was 'That's not him! No way!'. After a little research I found out I was right.
Johnny Depp does in fact not sing himself... If you wanna hear him sing, watch
Chocolat . I didn't like the film very much I must say... I just found it ridicoulous, but when it comes to this one I'll just say 'each to their own' and leave it at that.
Yesterday I went to see '
The Legend of Zorro' with JC and Sol. Again I laughed... for all the wrong reasons. It was more enjoyable than "
Into the Blue", I'll give it that, but this was a movie that really didn't have to be made. The only kick I really got out of it was the fact that
Shuler Hensley had a part in it. I'm rather pleased I got this film for free, but to be honest I wouldn't have payed to see it anyway. All I'm really left with after this film is a slightly lower IQ and I'm wondering if
Rufus Sewell has had some work done on his face.
Am going to see '
Kinky Boots' tonight with JC & Sol. Am just dying to see
Chiwetel Ejiofor (The Oprative) in drag. It looks like a sweet brit-movie anyway.
I will write about my trip to Poland, but can't really be bothered right now, so I'm putting up a bunch of pictures behind the cut, with a few explanations... basically just some pics of the flat we bought and some of the stuff I bought while I was there. Def not dial up friendly.
THIS IS OUR FLAT:
Hallway:
Bathroom:
My bedroom:
Livingroom:
Kitchen:
Balcony:
There are going to be a lot of changes, mom's hired some workers to fix it up. We might go for a trip at Easter, I'll have new pictures then. :)
Here's some of the stuff I bought:
These three were kind of bought with the thought that it'd work as a set. I do really like the jacket though. Have been looking for something like it for a little while, and I of course find it in Poland. :D
I very rarely wear pink, but the sweather was just so very very comfy that I had to have it. Same goes for the slippers really... they're so soft, it's like walking on cotton. The black sweather can double as a jacket and is also really comfotable, will come in handy when the cold sets in. :)
Very happy with the pants as well, they have a rather low cut so I got a belt as well so I wouldn't risk the whole 'plumber thing' if I had to bend down. The top was a last minute thing, but I really liked it, and it's blue. :)
This is mostly where I do my clothes shopping when I'm in Poland, cheap, nice, and afordable. :D
That's it for now, doubt i'll post before anything major before I go home! I'm going home on Wednesday! Hurray! :D
