Dread & Anticipation

► My anxiety is starting to get more overwhelming the closer I get to Friday. I really do not want to leave the apartment this week, although I should go to the electric company and the pension offices and just get that over with. I could try fitting everything into next Friday, but that'll just turn it into an even bigger hassle since I have a therapy appointment that day.

Really, I know I need to go out this week and get it over with. That doesn't mean I have to like it.

► On Monday I finally sent my friend John the final list of stuff I'd like him to look for at the Ohio conventions he's attending later this month. In no way am I expecting everything on the list, quite the contrary, I'll be surprised if he finds any of the stuff. The list contains 5 Superman tradepaperbacks, 4 of which are roughly 10 years out of print. I also included the 13" DC Direct Batgirl Deluxe doll with a cut off price of $50, and the Hot Toys 1/6th scale Superman doll which, if John was to find it, I would gladly accept as the sole purchase at the show. Of course I think it would take a minor miracle for him to find the Superman doll, let alone have it fall under my $180 budget.

Given how unlikely it'll be for him to find any of the above stuff, he might just arrange a few convention sketches for me. If so, I picked a final character list consisting of Superman as my main choice, followed by Batgirl (in her 70s costume with the collar lapels), Power Girl (Infinite Crisis era costume), and Medusa (80s costume) if the artist is better at drawing women. Blue Beetle is the wild card selection.

I'm both really anxious and excited about what John might get for me.

IndieWire: Anti-Islam Indie Film Sparks Mob Protests That Lead to Deaths of Four Americans in Libya - I was going to make a sarcastic comment, but I'd much rather not be murdered.

Guardian.co.uk - Anna Marie Cox: Mitt Romney's ill-judged attack on Obama over Libya backfires - After commenting on the murders of US consular officials in Benghazi, Libya, Mitt Romney left the podium smirking. Wrong time to show voters you're not a completely emotionless robot, even if the emotion was pure smugness.

EW InsideTV: A&E orders supernatural Michael Bay pilot - From the article:The show, which is still in its early stages, centers on an FBI agent who returns to work after an extended absence, stemming from a breakdown he experienced while investigating his wife’s disappearance. Upon his return, he’s placed on a new occult-centric task force with a new partner, who specializes in the subject.
So it's the X-Files with Mulder split into two characters. And, I'm guessing, lots of explosions.

Eonline News: The Newsroom's Alison Pill Accidentally Posts Topless Pic on Twitter - Accidentally, sure.

Eonline News: R.I.P., Professor X: Marvel Kills Off X-Men Leader! - Again? It's always so cute when the mainstream media reacts with shock to comic book deaths. Professor X will be back eventually.

Kenner Collector: Kenner’s Daddy Saddle Has Been Found! - This is disturbing on many levels.

Blogspot: Onde Meu Gato Senta (Where My Cat Sits) - While I've only had Stormy for 4 and a half months, I already know this to be true. Although he looks much less happy when he does it.

Cheezburger - Superheroes: Not Creepy at All... - Nope, not at all.
