Back In Traction
► What a day. It's starting to look like we're partway into another heatwave and our tiny air conditioner doesn't seem to be doing much to help. The cat has now destroyed a third shower curtain in four days, obviously making up for the previous 2 and a half months of not destroying shower curtains. And, finally, to top it all off I either pulled, popped, or tweaked my lower back while sleeping or when I woke up because my back has been in incredible pain all day long. Hard to do stuff around the apartment when it's so hot and humid, let alone when you can't get back up after bending down.
On the plus side, Dad called to say he couldn't come over today to help trim Stormy's claws (I managed to clip two nails myself yesterday). Instead, he's coming over tomorrow. The plan is for him to hold Stormy while I clip. I expect this mission to fail horribly, and for there to be much scratching and biting and bleeding.
Speaking of which, I was playing with Stormy early this morning around 5:00am when he swatted at a feather toy I was jiggling for him and slashed a claw across the first knuckle on my right index finger. It's a very minor cut, not very deep and only half an inch long, but by god did it bleed a lot. Half of my finger was coated in blood, and after I rinsed it off and washing the wound with soap it bleed even more. The only thing that stopped the blood flow were the legendary skills of a Batman band-aid. After having that box of band-aids for four years, this was the first time I've had to use one.

Which irks me because I found it really touching when Dr. Chandra said it in 2010 and they're trying to RUIN IT FOR ME! >8o

I quickly dashed some white and black makeup on my face for a Halloween party and wore my regular clothes. That doesn't mean I wore a Crow costume.
