► That was disappointing. I lost all 10 art auctions I had bids on today. Granted it saved me from having to pay any more and prolong my ridiculous splurging of the past few weeks, but it's still disappointing none-the-less.
Losing today's auctions I've finally noticed a pattern. The seller (who I've won the majority of my Ebay art auctions from) posts auctions over 3 days. When I bid on several auctions posted the first day I typically win a couple at low prices. It seems like all the other bidders are pacing themselves for the second and third day items. Once the auctions on the third day start ending there's a sudden feeding frenzy and I typically lose all of my bids, only occasionally lucking out on some ignored item I bid on at the last moment.
I think, in the future, when I bid on his auctions I should just put my focus on the first day items and not bother with the later stuff. Of course, I could just not bid at all. But where's the fun in that?
► Tonight I received a surprising email from
Blizzard, the company that runs the
World of Warcraft game. The message was to inform me that they were closing my account and deleting my characters do to illegal activities being done where in game items were being sold for real life money.
Now I had been warned after the fact that there are fishing scams that operate like this, but the message looked legitimate and contained several different links to different areas of the Blizzard website (and no spelling errors, which is a tell-tale sign of fishers). I followed the links and sent a message informing them that I had neither played nor accessed the game or my account since March of 2010, and have had no involvement in whatever violations they claim have been done. They responded saying that my account would not be deleted after all, and neither will my characters (really just
Redsascha). Actually, the message I received made a point that my character seemed unaffected and unchanged, but really, how would they be able to know?
While I know it's all moot since I don't play the game, but I really would hate to lose Redsascha, because I keep harboring the notion that "someday" I'll start playing again. When and if I ever get a new upgraded computer. It's just nice to know she's still "out there".

Wikipedia entry: DC Challenge - I'm surprised I've never heard of this 12 issue mini series from 1985 to 1986. It sounds like it was a lot of fun and I'd love to see it reprinted as a tradepaperback.

Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow Leads Cast of The Avengers on Set of Filming - There are 29 on set photos of
her and some of the other cast members.
She looks much more like
Black Widow to me in this than in
Iron Man 2.

The Devin’s Advocate: The Rules For Found Footage Films - I guess "don't suck" would be an oversimplification. My personal favourite "found footage" movies have been
Cloverfield,
The Last Exorcism, and
Paranormal Activity (I know a lot of people found that film long and boring, but it just worked for me).
