Snapping Out Of It
► Sometimes you just need a distraction. As mentioned previously, I've been in one of my anxious depressive spells since late last week. Yesterday was particularly difficult, as I've been feeling increasingly overwhelmed with worrying about several different things. This morning the spell seemed to break as I became concerned about my sister. Dean hasn't gone to work all week because she's currently stuck in a manic phase due to her bipolar disorder. She's been incredibly talkative and animated, while also breaking down in tears seemingly randomly. Worrying about her and trying to give her pep talks seems to have helped me out of my own funk. Maybe just temporarily, but I'll take that.
Relatively speaking, I think Dean is okay. She's far from the worse I've seen her, but she is upset. It's also coming at a bad time given money is tight, and she can't really afford to miss any work right now. That said, I doubt she'll be able to go to work at all this week. Ah well, it can't be helped. I just hope she'll be okay when I'm away house sitting this weekend from Saturday to Tuesday.

► Vanity Fair: Is Mitt Romney… Weird? - I don't know about weird, but strapping a dog in it's carrier on the roof of a car for a 12 hour drive is idiotic at best.
► SDCC 2011: Ghostbusters Terror Dog Lamp! - Yeah, I want this.
► Terrorist Target Mexican Nanotechnology Professors - Wait a second... Mexico has scientists?
► San Diego Comic-Con 2011: The NECA Booth - Holy crap! I want those 2 Evil Dead II Ash figures! The bloated zombie mother... not so much.
Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to get either of the figures since my comic shop stopped stocking NECA figures a couple of years ago (I was the only guaranteed sell). I haven't been able to get a figure, nor have any idea what they've released, since. Still wish I had been able to get the Ginny Weasley figure from their Harry Potter line. That was the first wave of figures my shop decided not to order. Just happened to be my favourite character from the series. C'est la vie.
► HARRY POTTER-themed weddings add a touch of magic to that special day! - Odd... when I think of weddings I don't usually think of orphaned boy wizards.
► The 11 Most Commercially Successful Directors You've NEVER Heard Of - I cry bullshit on the inclusion of Bob Clark. The guy essentially created both the slasher and teen-sex comedy genres with Black Christmas and Porky's. And that was before he directed the greatest Christmas movie of the past 40 years: A Christmas Story. I most definitely know who Bob Clark is.
Of course he did direct Baby Geniuses and Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2. Ugh.
