Green Things
► I went grocery shopping early this afternoon, and I am officially broke until next Thursday. Ohhh, the pity!
► Last night I saw Green Lantern (I won't say how), and I was left with one question when it ended: what movie did the critics and all the haters see? I thought the movie was fantastic! Ryan Reynolds was a perfect Hal Jordan, the film was fun, action packed, colourful, entertaining, and the characterizations and the movie itself was one of the most accurate comic book to screen adaptions I've seen. Actually, the only real change from the comics was the origin of Parallax, and I think they're take actually makes more sense than Geoff Johns' bizarre "avatar/embodiment of fear" thing (and all the ridiculous emotional spectrum manifestations... why is Will a whale and Love a psychopathic man?)
So far I've been really impressed with the 3 major superhero movies this year, X-Men: First Class, Thor, and now Green Lantern. I definitely plan to pick up the DVDs of Green Lantern and Thor (which I actually liked a little bit more as it seemed faster paced) when both eventually come out. Box office and critics don't matter to me, I think 2011 is a great year for superhero movies!
► The New Captain America Trailer! - Holy shit! I've been anticipating this movie for months, but I think this new trailer now has me ovulating. Want, movie, now!
► J.K. Rowling Announces Online Project Pottermore - Am I the only person who was completely and utterly underwhelmed by the announcement?
► Tyrion Lannister’s Best Lines in “Game of Thrones” Season One - Dad loves this show, and I mean loves it. Because of the show he's bought all the books in the series it's based on and he's been reading and enjoying them. He's reading fantasy novels, this man who mostly just reads westerns, murder thrillers, and golf books. When I was over at his place this past Saturday he kept insisting that I watch the first 2 episodes of the show to see how awesome it is. Sadly, the cable connection kept cutting out when we got 3 minutes into the first episode, and after a few tries we watched a movie instead. I must admit it did look cool.
► Batman riding Superman - It is what it says, and it's actually cute.
► 10 indisputable reasons why Captain Picard is awesome - This list is far too short.
► Judge Spares Lindsay Lohan From Jail Time, Bans Actress From Hosting Parties - I'm convinced Lindsay's troubles are related to her hair-dye. Maybe if she went back to her natural red her brain cells would recover (not meant as a dumb-blonde joke).
