► I forgot how creepy this was...
First, some context: back in 1990 in grade 8 I had a gym class "accident" (some kids yanked the mat when I practiced the high jump) in which I snapped my neck (3rd degree sprain) and pinched a nerve in my shoulder giving me partial paralysis in my left arm. I lost the use of my left arm that summer and went to Ottawa a few times to electric shock treatments along my arm and hand. They were done by putting electroid stickies on my skin and running current, the most painful of which was a long needle inserted in the joint of me thumb and electrified. Anyway, by September I regained use of my arm, although it was much weaker and number than my right.
Until just a year or so ago (when I noticed it had stopped) I'd periodically get numbness and weakness in my left arm and hand. This morning I woke up and for the first time in at least a year or two, I couldn't feel my left thumb and index finger, and a mildly numb-y tingling in the rest of my hand and up to my shoulder. I can feel things when I touch them with the digits, and use the hand, but I have the odd sensation that the affected fingers are "alien" and not part of my body. Also, my arm has this perpetual feeling as if I want and need to keep stretching it.
This isn't anything new, and I used to deal with it all the time, but after however long it's been it'd incredibly unnerving. It's just creepy.

Cracked: 6 Civil War Myths Everyone Believes (That Are Total B.S.) - As the saying goes: "Never let the facts get in the way of a good story." I think the article does have one error. While the US has participated in "bloodier" wars, the
American Civil War was the bloodiest war on American soil. Which I think was always the point of that claim.

Geoff Johns and Jim Lee plan to drop DC bombshells at Hero Complex festival - My friend Gene was telling me that the big rumour going around is that with all of
DC Comics' current storylines ending in August, that September will see a complete company wide reboot of the comic books. Every single title starting over at #1, including such long running and storied titles as
Action and
Detective, the longest running American comic book titles. Why this would be announced at a film festival and not a comic book convention is beyond me.
My thoughts on this, if it's true, are conflicted. On the one hand a fresh start would be good, as a lot of stuff has gotten incredibly complicated and messy in the comics over the years. But on the other hand, the idea of having the entire
DC Universe of characters having to reestablish themselves in their world is incredibly tiresome. Will we have to sit through
Superman,
Batman and
Wonder Woman being complete unknowns to the world, again? Tiresome.
My two biggest concerns are first, this negating the marriage between
Clark Kent and
Lois Lane, and bringing back the incredibly annoying and dated Clark/Lois/Superman love triangle. And secondly, what this would mean to
Power Girl, and whether she'll lose her origin and place again as she's a refugee of a
planet in a
universe of a
multiverse that's been 2 to 3 times over removed from continuity.
Gene's determined that the August issue of Power Girl,
number 27, will be the last as he's been predicting it's eminent cancellation of the series since issue number 3. It begrudges me to say so, but he's probably right, now. As my second favourite DC Comics character, I don't want to lose her series or her as a character should all of this actually happen.
I can't help but picture all of this, should it be true, coming about because of a
Warner Bros film studio executive complaining to
Lee and
Johns that the DC Comics are just too confusing. "We run things now! Start it over!" Ever since Warner Brothers basically forced control of DC and created DC Entertainment, I've been wondering who's really running things now.
