Happy Mother's Day

► On Friday Dean told me that next weekend we're babysitting Max and Abby, our 5 year old nephew and 2 year old niece. It will be nice to see the kids since I haven't seen them since Christmas time. That said, I'm always a bit skittish about babysitting them here at the apartment. Mostly I worry because I don't feel comfortable with the kids running into my room. It's far from the safest places with tiny grabby infants since my room is piled high with bookcases full of heavy objects and breakable things, and heavy iron DVD towers.

Also the few nude pictures on my bulletin board aren't exactly age appropriate either.

I think the kids will be sleeping in Deana's king-sized bed with her.

► The other day I was watching television, flipping channels, when I stopped on CNN. There was a report on a small town in the US which is the home-base for the Navy SEAL team that was responsible for the bin Laden compound assault last week. The point of the news article was how the SEALs are so top secret, people in the town have no idea who any of them are, and how they blend in with "average" people. I'm not sure how average the townspeople are since the highlight of the segment, to me, was an interview with a woman who's last name was Batman. Seriously.

Photopic Sky Survey - I have no idea what the point is, but I think this is neat.

The 10 Weirdest Movies Ever: Read at Your Own Risk - You could make a separate list of just David Lynch films. Also, I don't see how Donnie Darko is all that hard to get. It's **spoilers** a teenager caught in a time loop/bubble at the moment of his death with elements from what lead up to it bleeding into that bubble.

Die Hard movie poster by artist Daniel Norris - Very cool.

Sad, Sword-Waving Pirate Shot by Cops - Immediately after, the police had to respond to breakup a ninja/robot gang riot.

Scientists Give Computer Schizophrenia - File this under the ever growing "because we can!" school of science.
