This IS My Hobby
► Last night Deana asked me to make some more phonecalls for her today. I said I would (and I made them this morning). She then told me to make a list of TV show DVD season sets I wanted because she was going to buy me one as a thank you gift for all the calls I've been doing for her lately. I thought that was a very nice gesture.
► Well that's disappointing. If I may take a moment to dip back into my perversions, as mentioned a few days ago my favourite current ATKhairy model Susanna's (Zuzana Zeleznovova) final photo set was posted last Friday. I've been hoping that she'll be back soon with a 4th cycle of 10 photo sets. Apparently not. Earlier I found my way to a forum and on it there was a thread about her. It seems that she was due to film a new batch of sets in May, but the photographer found out she had shaved off her bountiful girlfur (for a boyfriend apparently) and would not be returning any time in the near future.
**sigh**
Ah well. She did 3 cycles of 10 photo sets each from January through April (for a total of 30 sets and just shy of 5600 pictures). That's a hell of a lot more than I had any reason to expect. I wish her much luck in what she does next, and secretly hope her boyfriend breaks his legs. Some people are just incapable of appreciating it when they have something magnificent.
On the plus side, it seems my favourite redhead model, Ryanne, is returning with 10 new sets in a month. Win!
► Doctor Who: The BBC Reveals the 11th Doctor's DVD and Blu-ray Plans for the 6th Season - This year Doctor Who's 6th Season/Series is being broken in two. The first half (7 episodes) just started airing this past Saturday, and after a summer break, the final 6 episodes will air in September and October. My big issue with the break was less to do with the inevitable cliffhangers, but more about the DVD sets.
When this was announced last year the press releases said that they'd be collecting the sets as 2 separate volumes. That pissed me off bothered me because it meant having to buy twice as man sets, and not knowing how or if they'd work the 2010 Christmas special into them. Basically I thought it sounded like a money grab to make us have to buy twice as many sets. Turns out I don't have to worry. It seems they'll release the volume sets as planned (first in the summer, second shortly after the season ends), and at the end of the year the full set (presumably with the aforementioned Christmas special) will come out as usual. Good.
► 'Terminator' Back With Arnold To Star: Schwarzenegger In Package Shopping Now; 'Fast Five's Justin Lin To Direct - Post open-heart surgery and eight years of governorship, isn't Arnold a bit too wrinkled and flabby to play an unaging flawless android? He really seems smaller and deflated nowadays.
► Mississippi town figures out simple, effective way to stop Westboro Baptist Church funeral protest - Passive aggressive warfare! hopefully other towns will be able to replicate this successfully.
► The 25 Most Awesome 'Action Comics' Covers of All Time - Today sees the release of issue 900 of Action Comics. These covers are great, though I'm surprised I've never before seen that one with Superman sucker-punching the Flash. It's probably a robot.
