Stupid Teeth
► Bit terrified today. Last night my bad molar was acting up so I took a couple of ibuprofen tablets and it felt better. Today I woke up and while the tooth doesn't hurt that much, there seems to be a soft ball on my gum above the tooth, and my right cheek is a bit swollen. Looks like I have an abscess.
The reason I'm worried is that I currently can't do anything about it. It's still 5 days before Dad will get home from his trip, and even then I'll still be stuck with the problem of not being able to go to the dentist because of my panic disorder and attacks.
Adding to this are the horror stories I've heard in the past of tooth infections spreading to the blood and brain, killing people. This afternoon my heart started pounding and I started to feel sick, but after an hour it passed so it was most likely just a panic attack. I just can't get over the feeling that I'm trapped and screwed. For now all I can do is just hope it clears up on it's own.
I talked with Dad on the phone a couple of times this afternoon, so he knows what's going on. Somehow telling him made me feel better.
