► That makes 2 weekends in a row where I took time off from the computer to watch a bunch of DVDs. If I can keep this up maybe I'll finally get through my unwatched stacks. Maybe.
► Potpourri, I hate it. Walmart rearranged the DVD displays outside of the electronics section, moving the Christmas themed ones to the crafts section of the store. Right in the middle of all of the pungent potpourri. The smell was so overwhelming it seemed to coat my sinuses, and gave me a horrible headache (and a touch of nausea) for the rest of the day. God I hate that smell.
► Today's outing proved to be successful as I finished my Christmas shopping. My older sister Deana (who I have in the family Secret Santa pool) is all bought for, and so is my 4 year old nephew, Max. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that now.
I actually didn't spend very much on myself, well, not as much as I usually do. Sure, I bought food and toiletries, but I only picked up 3 comics at the comic book shop. This was the second month in the row where there hasn't been a new issue of
The Black Terror or
Project Superpowers in my pull list at the comic book shop. I wonder if they both really were mini series and have finished.
It surprises me, but I've bought very few DVDs in the past month and a half. Today I bought the most since mid October. From Walmart's $5 bin I got
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and later at Blockbuster I picked up
Mad Max for $5, and
Mars Attacks! for $7 or $8.
For the next few weeks I want to try to spend less, and save up a little bit of money. Not for any noble cause, but to have enough if I do end up commissioning a drawing or two from some artists. At the moment my main thoughts are either a couple of sketches from
Darryl Banks, or another colour piece by
ArtChild. There are some other artists I'm interested in, but I don't know they're rates, and I have to keep it in the $100-or-less-per-drawing range. They'd also have to accept money orders since I don't have a credit card or Paypal.

Leslie Nielsen passed away on Sunday from pneumonia. That makes me sad.

Kim Kardashian In A Coffin For World AIDS Day (PHOTO) - I'm confused. Is the ad supposed to be showing how hot, sexy and glamourous AIDS is?

Marisa Miller Drops Some Mondo Cleavage On Conan - HOLY MARY MOTHER OF GOD! I first discovered
Marisa Miller back in the late 90s when she was one of many super skinny naturally busty models who posed for the topless magazine
Perfect 10 (before she started appearing in
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issues). God I loved her.

Spider-Man musical’s first performance caught in web of mishaps - For the longest time I've been amused about
the play's constant problems and mishaps, but now I just feel sad for everyone involved. To paraphrase an oft Hollywood cliché about movies, no one sets out to make a bad play.

POLL: Who should play Wonder Woman? - Somehow I doubt this is going to affect the casting.
►
The Muppet Christmas Carol: Scrooge - My favourite song in the movie. I just find the song has the best wordplay (kudos to
Paul Williams!) and my favourite line is "There goes Mr. Skin flint, there goes Mr. Greed. The undisputed master of the underhanded deed." Just delightful.
