► Writing and maintaining this, my Livejournal, can actually be an interesting writing challenge at times. Often I get ahead of myself when working on my entries, either posting links and comments in future entries, or getting sidetracked and having to go back and finish ones from the day or a few days before (I don't make them public until they're finished). When it comes to finishing an entry from the day before, I sometimes have to complete

...articles that I've only just outlined. While my comments on links are easy enough to bump from entries, I try to write the personal daily stuff in the frame of mind I was at the time I started the post. It's nothing major, but I find it an interesting challenge.
An example would be if I began a post talking about having a massive panic attack at a store that day, only to stop until 2 days later. I would then try to finish that original post as if I was still experiencing it on the day I started. Writing is fun.
► I woke up with a throbbing pain in the back of my head. Seems I have a swollen lymph or gland at the base of my skull. Hopefully it'll ease up in a day or two. Ouch!

Michelle: and nearly recoiled in vampiric fashion from not having been exposed to sunlight in so long? ;)
Derek: hahaha, I can survive in sunlight
Derek: my powers are just diminished, that's all

Clint Eastwood Was Offered Superman And James Bond - This was back in the early to mid 70s when
Salkinds (the
Superman movie producers) were desperate to get a big name, any name to play
Superman. The star most often mentioned is
Robert Redford (there was no one bigger at the time) but they always pursued guys as varied as
Bruce Jenner and
Muhammad Ali.
I've always felt that you can cast a big name to play characters like
Batman and
Spider-Man, since they wear masks in costume. Because Superman doesn't wear a mask, you'll always be seeing the star first and not the character. Robert Redford running around in tights would have been weird, but with unknown Christopher Reeve you believed he was Superman. That's why it
Tim Burton's
late 90s Superman project never would have worked with
Nicolas Cage. It's too distracting.

New Captain America Set Pictures Reveal Full Costume And Motorcycle Chase! - I don't mind the
Captain America movie costume for a modern take on the character, but the personal armor pads and clothing materials just look too modern for a movie set in the 40s. It's all shiny plastics, no natural fibres and leathers. It just does not look like something that would have been made back then.
