Too Many Links - Part 1

► It's amazing to me, that I'm still awake and running. By late last night I had a headache and dizziness, on top of nerves and my depressive spell. I tried going to bed but didn't fall asleep until after 2:30am, only to wake up startled at 4:30am. Not being able to fall back asleep I watched a bit of TV (caught an episode of Wolverine and the Wolverine-Wolverine; that is the title, right?), then read for a bit. Shockingly I finally finished Showcase Presents House of Mystery Vol 2. I had read the first Vol in two weeks back in September, and it's taken me all this time to finish this one. Debating whether to follow it up with Vol 3, or crack open another of my unread Showcase collections.

Kept trying to get back to sleep all morning to no avail. Ended up showering and dressing just after 8:00am, and starting my laundry. Dad called around 11:00am to see if I wanted him to take me to get groceries since his golf club barbeque was canceled (Dean was still asleep so I didn't know if she'd still want to go). I said yes, and so we went to the grocery store at 1:00pm, came back to put the food away, then headed to Walmart.

There was a big summer blow-out sale in the DVD section at Walmart, so I was tethered there for awhile. Bought a bunch since I seem to be determined to bleed my bank account dry (oddly, most of the extra money I've accumulated since spring has flown away in the past month).► Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006; $5)
Sherlock Holmes (2009; $15)
Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965; $5)
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009; $10)
Escape From L.A. (1996; $4)
Ghost Whisperer: Season 2 (2006 - 2007; $15)
I bought Ghost Whisperer Season 2 despite not having Season 1 on DVD. Of course, I tried looking for it or any of the other sets in the sale displays, but the single copy of 2 I found, misplaced, was the only one I could find. For a bit I was considering getting Fringe Season 1 for $18 instead, but ultimately I decided I like Jenny Love a lot more than my barely casual interest in Fringe.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, which I didn't like, is slowly growing on me.

After everything last night and today I feel so exhausted, but also wired. The sudden raise in temperature and humidity this afternoon (after a weekend of relatively cool weather, and a night of near torrential rain) isn't helping. I'm just not sure if I can sleep.

► From The Onion: Nation Secretly Hoping 9/11 Becomes A Day Off Soon - I'm honestly surprised it hasn't already. Satirical fake news or not, I'm sure this isn't far off the mark.

Tiny but Tough: The Newly Empowered Petites - From the article:'“Petite women are all too often viewed as weak, fragile, delicate, even childlike,” Ms. Dahlman wrote in an e-mail interview. Because muscle and aggression are viewed as masculine traits, “it is unexpected to find great strength and ferocity in a small, petite frame,” she noted.'
Clearly someone who's never watched women's Olympic gymnastics. Those girls are scary.

Which of Cougar Town's Freakish New Titles Do You Prefer? - I guess they finally realized calling a show "Cougar Town" wasn't exactly the classiest of ideas. Might I suggest "The Formerly Desperately Slutty Mom".
