Watch Out For Falling Babies
► Stayed in, or rather on, my bed all day. Bit depressed. Just worrying about the computer and the sticky heat getting to me I guess. I need to make an effort to cheer myself up.
► On Saturday afternoon I watched most of a Family Guy marathon on TV. All of the episodes aired were from last season and one of them featured the family on a road trip singing the Bette Midler song The Rose a cappella in harmony.
The goddamn song has been stuck in my head ever since. I went all day without thinking of it once until a short while ago I realized I was whistling it. Ugh...
► The Green Hornet - trailer 1 - Shockingly... The Green Hornet looks pretty good, albeit a bit silly at times. Of course, I've just heard a rumour that the studio is apparently displeased with the movie and the trailer cherry picked the best moments of the movie to show what they wanted the movie to look like. No idea if that's true or not. Guess we'll have to wait for the release.
► Bombs Away!: 'Jonah Hex' Edition - So the Jonah Hex movie was a whimpering bomb this past weekend and already people are lining up to blame it on Megan Fox. Or at least bitch that people are lining up to blame it on Megan Fox. Either way it's Megan Fox, Megan Fox, Megan Fox. I thought the problem with the movie (from my limited knowledge) was that they took a simple, hard assed, R-rated, violent and dark western character and stuck him in a PG-13 movie with cheesy lines and situations, silly supernatural elements and steam punk. As someone's mentioned elsewhere, the movie reeks of Warner Brothers executives finding out it's a comic book and demanding it more comic booky whacky. Seems likely to me. What should have been akin to Unforgiven was instead made into Wild Wild West Part 2.
Of course, studio executives are blaming it on Jonah Hex's disfiguring makeup. Jackasses.
► Will Patrick Dempsey Play Doctor Strange? - Huh, wha-? I never would have considered Dempsey but it could work. Did like him in Enchanted. Hated him in Loverboy. Still, the idea of a Doctor Strange movie is intriguing (one of my favourite Marvel Comics heroes). Just keep Megan Fox out of it.
► Oil spill ads: 4 tasteless spots - Actually, I think the beach one is fairly clever and cute. The PETA one, at least to me, doesn't seem to make any sense. But then their messages always seem confused.
► Girls suck at video games / Les filles sont nulles aux jeux vidéo by Stéphanie Mercier
I thought this was cute.
