On The Wall

► Took a year and a half but I finally hung up my Goldfinger movie poster board yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't center it properly. Oh well, it happens.

Still have a large open space beside it. I might sticky tack up 2 of my laminated Alex Ross posters, if I can fit more than 1. Possibly Superman and Green Lantern or Green Lantern and The Flash.

Avatar beats Titanic as worldwide box office leader - Didn't take the movie long.

'Weird Al' Yankovic Unveils Plans For Live-Action Movie!!! - How the hell can you have a 'Weird Al' movie that doesn't star 'Weird Al'? I need to get UHF.

Is Sam Worthington Set To Play Dracula? In Alex Proyas' prequel, Year Zero - I like how they're calling it a prequel, as if that makes it part of some official series. Dracula has been in more movies than any other character, fictional or historical. This would be just another drop in a bucket the size of an ocean.

The other thing I find interesting is that there has never been any concrete evidence that Dracula is based on Vlad The Impaler other than his inspiring the name (Vlad's family name was Dracul, the Dragon). If anything, the Dracula mythology has more in common with the story of Elizabeth Bathory the Blood Countess, who was an actual Countess who murdered hundreds of young women to drink and bath in their blood in an attempt to remain youthful. There's nothing like that in Vlad's history. That Vlad became Dracula is a movie myth fed by Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 film version Dracula. But I digress.

Still, a Vlad movie would be cool.

Quote of the Moment

**Scientist Sir John Kelly speaks to quell public fears on TV, watched by journalists in a pub**
Sir John Kelly: When one considers the Moon is 240,000 miles away and the Sun ninety-three million, it is an extraordinary thing that astronomers can tell with such a degree of accuracy what their movements will be many years ahead.
Bill Maguire: Now, what does that mean?
Peter Stenning: It means he doesn't know what it's all about.
