A day about town

Alex and I found out there was a local farmer's market that happens every saturday "downtown". So we decided to go check it out. There were not as many stalls as usual, apparently, but we were able to find some local honey. That was what we were after, so it was perfect. Local honey is really supposed to help with allergies, so I am looking forward to that, plus, it was very affordable. We also got some creamed honey that is raspberry flavored, just as a treat. It is soooo yummy.

We had gotten up early (for us) because the market isn't open that long, and we didn't stay long. It was only 9:30ish when we left there. I suggested we go to a local nursery that he had mentioned a few times. We got there and looked around, finding some blueberry and blackberry vines that were a steal. Also, all their veggie flats were on sale for 25 cents a plant! Score!! I ended up getting lots of peppers and melons, and he got another variety of tomato. Also, I petted the shopkitty for a while, she was sweet.

On the way there, I saw a sign saying estate sale, so we decided to go. Turned out to be about 10 miles away, which we didn't know when we started, but it was a pretty drive. Due to a communication snafu, we turned out to not have any cash on us, so it was a fruitless trip. We looked around anyway, just incase there was something worth driving back for tomorrow. The big surprise, was apparently the woman had been a potter, and in her downstairs there was a kiln for sale and LOTS of molds, glazes, statuary ect. Also TONS of fabric and craft stuff. If we had had some money, we definatly would have gotten some things, but I dunno if it's worth the drive back over.

When we got home I planted and scrapped and dug. Now the garden looks much more gardeny, and some of the jalapeno plants alreay have small peppers on them, yum.
Took a shower, Alex put some Icyhot stuff on my achy back, made me a creamed honey snack and now I am waiting for him to go get some yummy soup and bread from Panera for dinner.

A good day :)
