Alex again view his war footage, as well as a bit which he had not thought as bad before, robbing a store and hurting the owner. As he is watching, he realizes that they are playing Beethoven's Ninth in the background. He tells them this is a sin, and talks with Dr Brodsky about it. Brodsky admits to no knowledge of music, and Alex discovers that his sickness is chemically induced.
Brodsky says "the choice has been all yours."
Alex tries to wheedle his way out of the treatment, and fails.
The conditioning is continued, and Alex is at last tested to see if he has the same reactions without the chemicals. He does. He attempts to escape and fails.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The conditioning has worked. Brodsky has no regrets for what he is doing to Alex, he has completely objectified Alex and dehumanized Alex. Jerk.
It's not ok to take music away from me.
