I've been busy...

Sorry I've been gone for so long but I've been preoccupied with trying to fix the problem with my leave among many other things. Unfortunately I only have 10 days on the books as opposed to the 42 my LES says I have. I took the 10 days.
The past couple of weeks have been a bit of a whirl-wind but over the past few days things have calmed down. It's nice to finally have a moment to sit down and update without feeling like I should be doing laundry or dishes or some other equally pressing household chore. Ugh. IT NEVER ENDS!
I finally finished setting up Thai's nursery. It was long over due. I never intended to wait so long to get her set up but as most of you already know her dresser was back ordered. Luckily it came in and know my house is a little more organized and a little less chaotic. Having random baby items strewn about the house is never a good thing.
Also, while we are on the topic of Thai, she's developed the nasty and annoying habit of blowing raspberries while she has a mouth full of food. I'm thinking of buying one of those face shields they use during autopsies but now that I think of it I think a full bio-hazard suit would be a better investment. It's bad enough I have to strip her down before I feed her (she tries to eat the bib and it ends up just making a bigger mess so I ditched em for now) but now I have to basically wrap myself in plastic to stay clean!
I've also decided I'm going to end all of my posts with little anecdotes that I later plan on printing out and giving to Thai when she gets older. I'm going to call them "Real Mom Confessions".
Things on the home front are going well. It's easier to keep up with stuff now that I'm on vacation, the animals are even behaving better. It's not exactly relaxing but once I get caught up with things I have the feeling I'll have more time to myself; I hope.
Nick was in port for a bit but his division was still required to come in during working hours so he wasn't around all that often. He was due for a 4 day weekend but when the weather guys predicted we were going to get a "Super Typhoon" the whole base flipped out and the Essex pulled back out again. The funny thing is that they pulled out on the same day the weather guys reneged on their prediction; the storm passed right by us and right now the harbor is so calm it looks like a mirror. Not ONE ripple, not ONE wave. What a joke.
Oh! I did get the chance to subscribe to my comic series. The bad news is it's going to take 8-10 weeks for the first issue to arrive. UCK, at least I know they are on the way though.
Well, I do believe that I've rambled on long enough for now...

Real Mom Confession #1:
"Sometimes when you fall asleep in the car I am tempted to pull over, lock all the doors and fall asleep right there in the drivers seat."
