Friday:
JO1 let me off work at 11:00 a.m. Needless to say I was surprised! I literally RAN out of the office before he could change his mind. :-)
After that it was a pretty uneventful evening. Thai and I just kind of hung out at home trying to relax and stay dry (it was raining).
Saturday:
Wasn't much different. I wanted to go for a walk and maybe hit the base pool but it was still raining. It was probably for the best though, after all the Lincoln was here so it would have been packed anyway. To be honest, it's been SO packed here lately that it hasn't even been worth leaving the house. For example: I tried going out to lunch with Noe on Friday and the line at Taco Bell was out the door and down the street. ICK! Sasebo is WAY to small for all those people!
Sunday:
WHAT a great day! Thai and I spent the morning getting ready for Renaissance Night at the Harbor View Club. It was a blast. They hosted a "Renaissance" inspired meal and the American Drama Group preformed (the early version) of William Shakespear's
"The Taming of the Shrew". The food was good and the play exceeded my expectations. It was excellent for a internationally travelling group. The set's were well built but the costumes were so-so. Some of them were outstanding while others were DEFINITE hand me downs, and poorly mended ones at that. Never the less the actors did a great job.
So did Thai. We had front row seats adn she was fascinated the whole time. She fussed a little about half way through the play because she was hungry but when I went to feed he she kept turning her head in the direction of the stage and accidently spitting out the bottle. It was hysterical!
Yesterday:
I had originally planned to go to the beach but unfortunatly it was raining, AGAIN.
I woke up to a phone call from my dad. W e chatted for about a half hour before I realized I was running late to drop Thai off at daycare. I decided to send her for a few hours so I could clean the house. I feel bad having her sit there and do nothing while I clean the house. It wasn't fun but the house needed an overhaul. I didn't get the whole thing done but I did get most of upstairs and all of downstairs done. It's a start. :-)
