I feel like I just got back from summer camp!!

OMG, this weekend was the bomb!!!!
Ok, first of all, Friday:
BLAGOSAH (GLBT org.) had a protest, where we passed out condom packs (3 condoms, AIDS/HIV info, and lubricant) to people around campus, and tried to get them to sign a petition allowing condoms to be allowed to be distrubuted in the students center (where the dining facilities, and the only place that most students go to). I mean, they have them in the student Health Center, but it isn't even on campus technically. And who the Hell is gonna go off campus to get a condom to fuck. So, since HIV/AIDS is the number 1 killer of african-americans, it is our responsibility to make sure that everyone who is sexually active is being as safe as possible. It was nice, because we met some new gay people and some new straight allies. It was awesome, we had music, and we got a shitload of signatures. But it was funny how the administration tried to negate our reasoning by filling the school paper with stories about reasons for abstinence and how it's the only way to go.

Then, that night, we went to the HBCU mix and mingle, and i met all the GLBT's from the other HBCU's and some Howard Alumni. I also got to hear a speech from Emil Wilbekin, the ex-editor of Vibe Magazine, and now the executive (or something like that) of Ecko, the clothing line. He was soooo nice and down to Earth, I love that guy, he's so awesome. I should have gotten a pitcure with him, but he was only there on Friday. He actually reminded me of Josh, hahaha, and he says that his friends call him an "Old Timey Queen". He rocks.
Morehouse guys had a vogue battle to "Kanye's workout plan", and they were kinda cute. one of them was really nice, a marketing major and he had a great butt. Me and robert both thought so. He was like "damn, i should have went to Morehouse." But for all of the shit that they put up with, it's ridiculous. We had soo many sad timed talking about how shady the schools treats the gay students at Morehouse, they are soldiers, for real.
Robert was mad because this boy from Dillard kept finding reasons to touch me, he was flirting kinda hard. Robert was jealous, but he has no reason to be. I love him.

Saturday:
Saturday was soooo long...... I mean, we had t be there at 8:30 in the morning, and we had workshops all day. We heard from gay authors, gay activists, gay lobbyists, and even Brandon's co-workers, who "get paid to be gay". They told their coming out stories and what their college experience was, and how they live now. The two lobbyists were actually a couple of 12 years that hooked up at Howard, and they were sooo cute, they made me and Robert smile, and brought a tear to my eye. That rocks. I am going to try and get a internship with HRC, if i can get my shit together.
Then we watched a movie "Brother to Brother"! the writer sent us a copy to watch, ad one of the actors came! Not Daniel Sunjata, sadly, though. But yeah, then the guy who was kinda flirting with me on Friday took a random picture of me, and Robert was real bothered by that. But then we had dinner, which was "supposed" to be soul food, but it was like a gourmet knockoff. It was like healthy fried chicken and some low fat macaroni and cheese. and i was like, "what is this? i want the grease!", hahaha. Alot of the students from other schools went out to the gay clubs friday and saturday night, but i was soo tired, i said no.

Sunday: we came back, and all the different groups made plans of action for their organizations for the next year, and took bunches of pictures, and had a speaker by the name of Dr. Jeanetta (sp?) Cole, who was this awesome woman who is the President of Bennett College and was president of Spellman (the only 2 HBCU's for women). She was such an amazing speaker. And Brandon kept crying about how much he loved to look at us and see how far the world has come and how far it will continue to go. He is so awesome. But i felt bad, because his partner died 3 years ago, and he is sick, but he is still living proud and courageously. I gave him a big hug. Me and Robert held hands when we left the conference, all around Dupont Circle, and I never felt so happy in all my life. I just hope that I can keep Brandon's dream alive. Lets hope that we all can. Gay, straight, bisexual, curious, transgendered, lesbian, everyone.

I love you all.

P.S. me and Robert's 4 month mark is on Tuesday, so we are gonna have valentine's day and then some. I am happy.
