[Zevran has been thinking for some time. He'd already decided his own course, days ago; the question was whether he would invite others to share it. He's come to the conclusion that it can't hurt to ask

You may need to bring me back up to speed; I'd been returned home for a year before being brought back in seemingly little over a day so my memories of this place have fuzzed a little.
[Zevran laughs.] Not at all! You are still as roguishly handsome as any assassin could hope to be.
It was some time ago for you, certainly, but...do you recall joining the army here? The talk we had about a reconnaissance mission to the police station?
I assume no one suitable has stepped up; has there been much infighting? Our group is very small as far as armies go, but I'm a bit surprised that there was no appointed second in command to take up the reins.
The man who worked with her to lead the army seems to have stepped aside for the king of his country, who none of us have met before. And this king...his plan is to cancel all military action and instead perform an opera with which to insult our captors, to observe the reaction. But I can't see how this benefits us in the slightest. If there is no reaction, we have wasted our time; if there is a reaction, it will be predictably violent and, again, we will have gained nothing by it but to prove what we already know.
Our infiltration is one of the military actions he wishes to cancel. But I am wondering if this is a man worth listening to.
Aside from giving orders and expecting them to be followed, no. I was indeed thinking that we should continue regardless, and make our own decisions if his cannot be trusted.
Well, I think we have our answer then. A leader that is ineffective and does not enforce his leadership really is not worth listening to; I've seen too many bad leaders to want to have to put up with any of them here.
Thank you, my friend. I still need to speak with Ciel and Leliana, to see if they are equally prepared to go forward with this. Leliana I am fairly certain of already, of course, since she is a friend from home, but she needs to be brought up to speed at the very least.

[He smiles and gives an obviously superfluous glance at his hair, as though checking for grey stripes.]
I've made amazing progress with my... quest, I suppose it could be called, at home, but it appears I'm needed elsewhere now. What can I do for you?

I do, yes. As I remember the town went on a violent witch hunt that pretty effectively stalled anything we were planning on doing to that end.
