To the soldier, the civilian

[Zevran has been thinking for some time. He'd already decided his own course, days ago; the question was whether he would invite others to share it. He's come to the conclusion that it can't hurt to ask ( Read more... )

This opera business. What do you think of it, my dear?

Oh, that... I dunno! It's kind of a strange idea, isn't it?

Indeed. All the more so because it seems to gain us nothing, while risking everyone involved.

Now that you mention it... It's just going to get us all into a lot of trouble~ [sigh] I was hopin' we'd be able to make some progress with those attack plans, too...

I had thought, perhaps, it might be better to leave this Frederick person to perform his opera, while the rest of us - focus on more productive things.

You want to defect, then? Mm, do you really think that's a good idea?

Defect? This is an army of volunteers, and it is currently without a proper leader. 'Defect' would not be a proper word for someone who has never enlisted, and has no superior to report to.

Either way, I have died many times here, but I object to risking death needlessly, on something that will help no one.

Hey, don't get me wrong -- I agree with you! I don't like the idea of pointless deaths, either...

But do you really think branching out like this will do any good? We're having a hard enough time of things as it is!

The opera will do no good, either. So why not? At least we can continue with those plans that seem to have a point. Easier to simply go separate ways than to fight within the ranks, yes?

Ugh, no, the last thing we need is something else to make getting out of here more difficult~ [groan] I think I'd much rather continue following the Major General's orders, anyway, even if she's gone now.

My thoughts exactly! But I feel it would be better if those of us continuing her work were working together, rather than breaking off from this king individually and essentially dissolving the army altogether. That is why I called people here.

Ah, I'd feel bad leaving everyone else hanging, though... not that I was gonna volunteer for that opera-thingie, but...

I would hope that everyone else agrees with us, and works with us. I cannot imagine this opera idea is popular with those of us who were working with Olivier.
