He was beaten rather severely by two men for a bad attitude. I won't argue that Conrad has an attitude many would appreciate, but that is hardly worth brutalizing someone over.

I have no idea. I believe they start out as human...? Whether they qualify beyond that is difficult to say. I believe they are technically dead. And immortal. Not qualities one normally associates with humans, in any case.

They may still be human at the moment, actually. I don't believe they have regained their vampire status yet. So, sadly, at least for the moment you likely cannot do anything against them.

Or does humanity not truly count if it is a state forced upon them by the town?
