I suppose it is just as well I came back when I did, yes? Vengeance, from what I have seen, would not work out well. You described the abilities of those who run this town to me, but even so, it seems I was not entirely prepared to see them in action...
My apologies, in any case. I seem to have failed rather spectacularly.
I only wish I had learned something of what to do. I had thought the element of surprise might allow something to be accomplished, and I am fairly certain he did not see me prior to firing, but it made no difference.
Several months, by my world's reckoning. Enough time to fight an entire war.
Not very great, to be honest - I waited on my roof until he stopped in front of the house. I had hoped, at such short distance, there would be no time to dodge, but perhaps a shot from further away would have been more effective and less expected.
[Zevran sighs; he actually had a decent life to look forward to in Thedas, so being removed from it is actually being a bit harder on him this time around. But it hasn't really had time to sink in yet.] So am I. [Then, as quickly as flipping a switch, he's back to wry amusement.] Well, I am no longer a proper assassin. I have sworn fealty to a woman I was sent to kill, fought in a war, and helped slay a mad dragon god.
A shame Mayfield brought me back when it did; I probably could have conquered the Golden City and become a minor deity with a little more time on my hands.
[Since that seemed to be working wonderfully.(sarcasm)]

So, how long have you been gone? I take it by your question you went back home.

Even when hidden? What distance did you have on the man?
[To the last part.]
Also, though I'm glad to have you back I am sorry you didn't get to stay home. Anything about you I should know about since it's been so long?
