[It's very early morning, before the Milkman has started making his rounds, and Zevran is already awake. He's got a number of preparations to make...]

[Zevran heads down the hall to Cynric's room, knocking lightly on the door.] Time to wake up, my friend. [His voice is quite light, under the circumstances. He already tried rousing Yoruichi, but got no response at all, aside from a few items of increasing mass and velocity hurled at his head, so finally he gave up on her. Removing the others from the house is just a paranoid precaution, anyway...]

[There's the rustle of... stuff in Cyn's room. His room is practically a storage room of things he's been collecting with a small path leading from the door to the bed. He opens the door, obviously woken up by Zevran's knock.]

Is it? At such an hour?

Well, not normally, no. But I did say I would ask you to leave before I tried anything dangerous, yes?

[Rubbing his eyes, he gives you that look over a wrinkled nose again]

I think that if you're going to make me leave you should at least tell me what you're doing. And where am I supposed to go in the interim?

[Zevran pauses. He supposes it can't hurt, given that there's probably not much Cynric can do to help or interfere...] I intend to shoot the milkman.

As for where to go...have you made any friends? You could go spend a few hours with one of them.

[Cynric looks at Zevran as if he had just grown a second head.]

The milkman? Why on EARTH would you do that?

I have heard he is quite dangerous - possibly as much so as Grady or the Mayor, and they seem to be the ones in charge of the town. But, unlike them, I know exactly where the milkman will be this morning.

Have you noticed no one in this town trusts the milk? One can only imagine he plays some unpleasant role in this place.

Hm. I must say, this is the first time I've heard about it. But who would ever suspect the milkman? I must say, that's good cover.

[He pouts. Most of the friends he's made here lately have been droned, and he's not sure where to go with himself.] Ah. Well. I'll see about making myself scarce. But I will say again, I CAN help if need be.

I haven't heard or seen much of him either, to be honest. But that simply means that my attempt will show just how much of a threat he is, or is not.

I know, and I appreciate the offer. But the way I intend to attack him is not one that lends itself easily to assistance from others. Besides, it may be better if only one person suffers the consequences.

[Frown] So you're going to get yourself droned too! Soon there won't be anyone left of worth in this town, at this rate.

[A brief pause. Death was what Zevran has been expecting; droning hadn't actually occurred to him before now. It's a little disturbing to think about...but he's not going to change his mind now. Droning isn't necessarily permanent, either.] Oh? Does that mean I am worth something?

[Folds his arms] Well of course! Esepcially since you're not one of those empty drones. I seriously don't get those. Why would anyone WANT people to act such a way.

[Zev chuckles.] I'm flattered. As for the drones...I couldn't say.
