Positive and Negatives continued….
Fashion at Gabes: I make less money an hour, but I am paid salary. So if I need to leave work for a little bit for a doctor’s appointment, I can, and I’ll still get paid while I’m gone. If I have all of my work done and everything is dead at the end of the day, I can slip out early and still get paid. I get 40 hours a week of pay no matter what.
I work 8-5, every day. There are no nights. That’s just awesome. Sometimes are job consists of leaving and checking hour how various Gabe’s stores are doing. I don’t really find this to be work, which is cool. It’s a nice change of environment sometimes. I also live 10 minutes away from work. For the first time ever, I do not need to commute to work. Due to such a quick commute to work, I am only paying about 20 dollars a week in gas now. Hell, if I wanted, I could commute to work with Trubie. Gabes is on his way to work. He could drop me off and pick me up every day if I really really wanted to save some money on gas. (And not leave for lunch, which is a negative)
There is room for advancement. I will not be stuck as merchandise assistant forever if I work hard and try to succeed. There are so many levels of advancement, all of which offer a pay increase. If I just advance one level from where I am now, I will be earning more than I ever made in hygiene.
No children in the office, but now I’m around a bunch of preggo ladies that love to talk about it. I’m not cool with this. I haven’t figured out how to deal with this yet. Poor, I haven’t got pregnant yet Melissa just needs to deal with the fact that preggos are everywhere…..I guess. Life sucks in the regard, for me anyway, my problem, no one else’s. I digress.
