Snake made his way to the table and saved a whole line of seats. No doubt he'd have Hope on one side and Solan on the other. With any luck Cellena would climb into Adira's lap. He also saved a seat so Xena could sit next to Solan.

Snake also makes sure that Solan and Hope get small glasses of wine. They were both old enough in his mind for small glasses. He poured them both wine and let it be unless Roger said anything about it.

Solan become puzzled slightly, when guests began to sit down a table. Traditions of this place still were not clear to boy, and he was afraid to tell or make something wrong. Xena seized him by a wrist and pulled behind herself, having noticed Snake which have kept places for them.
Here, - she has told to the son, taking seat near to the husband. She knew very few people from visitors, and has caught herself on idea that tries to be near her family. It has made her smiling.

Snake smiled and leaned over kissing Xena's cheek. This reminded him of when they had been married.

Solan sat on the offered place and awkwardly fidgeted on it now, examining dishes which the table has been filled with. He saw the most part of them for the first time though the smell was appetizing. Boy swallowed, having realized suddenly, that he got hungry, but did not dare to move the plate with the potatoes and roasted lamb which seemed to him very attracting, being afraid, that it will look impolite. Centaurs always taught him, that the most senior and esteemed member of a tribe should begin a dinner.

Snake noticed that Satine and Roger were both served. Shrugging he started to serve his family. Hope first, then Solan, Xena and lastly himself.

Snake smiled at Solan. You're old enough to have some wine. My family believed that it made a child grow healthy to have wine with dinner.

Uncle Kaleipus spoke the same words.
Solan smelt wine, having bent above a glass.
Centaurs made magnificent wines, and boy wanted to check up, as far as this wine is good in comparison with centaurian binge...

I don't know about the Centaur but we don't water our wine here like the Greeks do so it might be stronger then you are used to.

My uncle drunk wine undiluted, too. I think, I am adult enough to follow to his example.
Solan took a glass and looked back on mother, reflecting, whether is it possible to try wine right now?

Xena nodded, encouraging the son, and he brought the glass to lips, anticipating this moment, but stopped and asked:
Whether should I speak any toast, huh?

Snake shrugged. Do you want to say something to the bride and groom? Snake motioned over toward Satine and Roger.

Snake's movement caused almost a panic in the boy.
Oh... I meant, perhaps, there is such tradition here... I am not sure, that I shall manage to tell proper toast... I never did it before...I-I...

Snake smiled. Toast don't got to be something great all the time. Simply standing and telling them you want to toast the happiness in the future of their marriage would mean a lot.

The boy squeezed his glass convulsively
Yes, perhaps, you are right and I am just too confused, but I have thought, that it would be impolite to say my toast before it will make more senior persons and guests of honor... At least, centaurs observed this order very strictly...
