Roger finds Satine where she's talking with Snake. He puts an arm around her waist and excuses his intrusion in their conversation. Walking with her to the dancing area of the room, he clears his throat rather loudly

Having been down to the kitchens and had a look at the food- and the people prepairing it- and made certain that both were trustworthy, Moody offers Penny his arm. He picks a table where they can see all of the exits, and most everyone else in the room, and pulls out a chair for her.

Jack and Irina select the same table, for most of the same reasons. "Mind if we join you?"

*Moody chuckles, and gives a nod.* Bristow. Not at all.

Thank you. *He holds out a chair for Irina, who looks quite amused as she sits down. Once Irina's settled, Jack shakes Moody's hand, and lightly kisses Penny's cheek.*

*She looks amused.* I'm guessing the two of you have been pretty busy. *grins* I feel overdressed.

That guess would be correct. *Jack smiles a bit.* I regret we didn't have time to change.

*Laughs* I wouldn't worry about it. If Irina won't shoot me for saying this, I think you look rather dashing, Jack.

Irina would not. I might describe my feelings about that outfit differently, however.

Somehow I thought you might. You look great, Irina.

Thank you. Are you two staying here in the city?

You mean you don't already know the answer to that? *She shrugs* Seriously, I don't know. We came in for the day, but Roger told me he has rooms reserved for guests to stay, and we could use the break. *She makes a face.* Finals.

Ah, yes. The grading of endless repititions of the same mistakes on the same exam questions... And you have practical exams as well.

Yes, unfortunatly. Some of those- too many- were good practice... for me. Thank Gods I spent the night before the practical sgoing around placing warding charms on all of the important stuff- if those idiots had cracked the Foe-Glass, you'd have heard Alastor swearing from Siberia. *She chuckles* It was only really bad the first time, though- the deflection spells in the warding charms had things ricocheting all around the room, and there's nothing like having to dive under furniture to make people a little more cautious.

(ooc- sorry, Roger-mun... dunno why, but LJ posted this as the start of a new thread, so I deleted it. Stupid thing...)

*She glances over at Moody and Jack, and raises an eyebrow.* Those two are up to something.
